Colby Donaldson played the game well. Even before making it to the final two, he won a trip to the Great Barrier Reef after a challenge. His misstep was breaking off a piece of coral from said reef and keeping it as a souvenir. He was fined $100,000 for the stunt.

During season two of Survivor, a new rule was used in the event of a tie. First, if two castaways were tied, there would be a revote. If two contestants were still locked in a tie, votes cast against players from previous Tribal Councils would be counted. Whichever castaway had more votes would then be eliminated.
