Jason Aldean is definitely our kind of country superstar!

At this year's ACM Honors, Nashville native Jason Aldean was lauded with the Academy of Country Music's prestigious Triple Crown Award. The accolade is given to those who have won New Male/Female Vocalist of the Year, Male/Female Vocalist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year.
 
To mark the occasion, let's learn more about the man who's sold over 10 million albums since line-dancing into the country music world in 2005.

1. His lucky numbers are 9 and 3.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jason explained he aligned with the number 9 because it was his baseball number in high school. The performer's backup digit, though, is 3 because that was the baseball number he had before high school; plus, the prime number also happens to be his daughter's old softball number, too.

Like father, like daughter!

Jason isn't shy about saying he's a loyal viewer of CBS shows like Criminal Minds, CSI: Miami, and The Mentalist.

Before pursuing a music career, Jason changed his stage surname to Aldean, which was a play on his middle name, because he thought Jason Williams was far too generic.

While Jason didn’t attend the university, he grew up loving all things UGA. He even got a pet bulldog in honor of the school's mascot and named it Athens after the university's town. Talk about school pride!

After Jason's parents divorced when he was three, the little tyke spent the summers with his dad in Florida. The Williams' clan would spend hours jamming and bouncing musical ideas off of each other, but neither could've expected those lessons would lead Jason to multiple honors by the Academy of Country Music.

Jason's no stranger to signing autographs, but one male fan took him by surprise when he asked to have his prosthetic leg signed. And, yes, the man took his leg off before Jason signed it. Anything for the fans, right?

Back in the day, this ACM Award-winning artist used to drive around a beat-up pickup truck, which he bought when he was 16 with the money he made playing local shows. His ride may be a little nicer now, but his unwavering work ethic hasn't changed a bit.

After high school, Jason was offered a college baseball scholarship, which he ultimately turned down because he couldn’t imagine another four years of academia. So, instead, he swapped the bat for an ax and decided to chase his dreams in Nashville.

Nowadays, it's rare to ever catch Jason not sporting one of his signature cowboy hats, but there was a time when the "Big Green Tractor" singer rocked a pret-ty impressive mullet. While the long hair might be gone, Jason's "business in the front, party in the back" motto still lives on.
