Here's Everything You Need to Know About NCIS's Pauley Perrette

We know and love her is Abby Sciuto on NCIS, but what is it about Pauley Perrette that makes us want to be BFFs with her? Let’s dive into what makes this famous actress so lovable.

On NCIS, Abby Sciuto is a whip-smart forensic scientist who is empathetic almost to a fault. No one can turn down a hug from Abby! Plus, her goth-queen NCIS style is unparalleled. But long before she brought us Abby, Pauley was already an accomplished actress.

As Abby she's fantastic but in real life Pauley Perrette is equally fab. She inspires us all by giving so much of her time and energy to helping others ...

Pauley Perrette is a well-known civil rights activist and ally for the LGBT community. To promote The Trevor Project – a helpline for gay youth who struggle with thoughts of suicide and deal with crisis – she penned and sang a song called “Beautiful Child.” Pauley also volunteers for Save the Children and Habitat for Humanity, and recently handed out medals at the Special Olympics in Los Angeles, Calif. 

Just like her forensic scientist character, Abby, Pauley is no stranger to long study hours. She earned a Masters in Criminology from Valdosta State College.

Pauley Perrette appeared in a suspense flick that was super popular (and super scary) in the early 2000s. Let’s just say she wasn't the only one in the movie with killer long, black hair.
Speaking of Pauley's hair: did you know that she is actually a natural blonde? 
 

Pauley has fostered and adopted pets through the Amanda Foundation in Los Angeles. Her two cuddle buddies Bug and Grace were first foster pets, but became adoptees when Pauley couldn’t resist their charms. It’s no surprise that working with animals on NCIS is no problem for her.

Thanks to her role as Abby, Pauley scored some new “ink.” The spiderweb on Abby’s neck and the cross on her back are drawn on for the part. But all of her other tattoos are the real thing. She told Parade Magazine that her favorite tatt is located on her left ring finger. It’s her favorite Bible verse, Romans 12:21, which reads "Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

“That’s my favorite one and I look at it every day. That’s my mantra,” she told the publication.

Pauley channeled part-time bakers Max and Caroline from 2 Broke Girls when she teamed up with her two best buds Darren Greenblatt and Matthew Sandusky to open Donna Bell’s Bake Shop, a Southern-style bakery in New York City. The shop is named after Pauley's late mother, and it is the sweetest homage.

On television, that is. Her first major TV gig was on a mid-90s crime drama and now, as you well know, she’s kicking butt and taking names on CBS’s NCIS.

Pauley Perrette played a DJ in a popular rock movie released in 2000. She’s also a rocker in real life. She was part of the punk band Lo-Ball, and even contributed the song “FEAR” to NCIS’s first soundtrack. She posted the self-directed original video for the song on her YouTube page. To top it all off, Pauley also brought The GRAMMYs to the world as a Social Media Reporter.

Pauley Perrette was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. The NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans crossover last season was probably right up her alley!

Pauley Perrette and her boyfriend, former British Royal Marine Thomas Arklie, are two peas in a pod. The pair are adorable and extremely supportive of each other. She once told Us Weekly that her beau is "the kindest person [she's] ever known." 
 

Whether she's in a gown or a t-shirt and jeans, Pauley Perrette's goth rocker style is flawless. If you're wondering where she scores a lot of her red carpet garments, the answer is charity thrift shops. She's the ultimate punk princess!
