Her parents had some financial hardships and, for a time, the family was forced to take shelter in a farmhouse on her uncle’s farmhouse. It’s wasn’t much, but they slowly built it better, room by room. Hence, “The House That Built Me.”

Miranda finished in third on the show’s 2003 season, but later admitted that she was glad she didn’t win. As a 19-year-old, she felt as though she wasn’t ready. Lambert then focused on playing guitar and songwriting. She didn’t release Kerosene until 2005.

In Lambert's song "Heart Like Mine," she references her father and how upset he was when she got her first tattoo with the lyrics, "Daddy cried when he saw my tattoo, said he loved me anyway." Her tattoo of two Colt .45 pistols with wings one her left forearm became her default logo!

She also has a logo of her organization MuttNation Foundation on her foot.

Of course Miranda loves the country greats, but in an interview with Seventeen Magazine, she shared, “When I was growing up, I really used to sit and watch VHS tapes of Mariah Carey’s live shows. I guess she was a pretty big inspiration.”
