Both Jim Parsons and his alter-ego Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory hail from Texas; however, whereas the theoretical physicist was born in Galveston, the accomplished thespian considers Houston as his hometown.

With his low-key Southern drawl and easy charm, Young Sheldon actor Montana Jordan is easily a little bit country.

And it certainly doesn't hurt that he's actually from the same area as his TV character, Georgie, Jr.: East Texas!

Let's talk Pauley Perrette! 

First, the NCIS star was born in New Orleans and grew up all over the South, including Alabama, Tennessee, and both Carolinas, to name a few. As if that weren't enough, Perrette also opened a Southern-style bake shop in New York City and co-wrote a cookbook to go along with it.

Not only is the Living Biblically actor a Texas native, but Jay R. Ferguson's Southern roots run pretty deep.

He's spoken about growing up in a Southern Baptist family, telling the Los Angeles Daily News, "I was raised a Southern Baptist, very strict. That was a huge part of my life growing up." And let us not forget: He's a die-hard Cowboys fan.

Not only does she do a killer Southern accent as Meemaw on Young Sheldon, Annie Potts was born in Music City (Nashville, Texas) and grew up in Franklin, Kentucky.

Los Angeles native Katey Sagal currently plays sassy Chicago-based police officer Randy DeLuca on Superior Donuts; but, just because she's familiar with traffic and skyscrapers doesn't mean she's not a country gal at heart.

In fact, the critically acclaimed actress got her start in the music business by crooning backup vocals for country superstar Tanya Tucker and folk legend Bob Dylan.

You might know Nyambi Nyambi as investigator Jay DiPersia on The Good Fight (or Samuel on Mike & Molly!), but did you know that Nyambi originally hails from Norman, Oklahoma?

He grew up in Houston and Dallas, and then attended high school in Fairfax County, Virginia before heading up north for college and grad school.

There must be something in the water—or peaches—in Georgia because some of the most talented entertainers hail from there. In addition to country artists like Alan Jackson, Jason Aldean, and Trisha Yearwood, actress Carrie Preston also comes from The Empire State of the South.

Born in Washington, D.C., The Late Show host Stephen Colbert spent his childhood in South Carolina.

Not only does Scorpion actress Katharine McPhee have some pretty awesome acting chops, but she's also got a killer set of pipes. As Rick Forrester, the cunning Head of International Design at Forrester Creations, you might think actor Jacob Young can't stand the thought of getting dirt on his boots... But that couldn't be further from the truth.
