Before the Big Brother Season 17 Houseguests step into their new house for the first time, house designer Scott Storey gave us a tour of the space, complete with commentary on each room.

This year, Scott chose to expand on the use of steel and came up with the final “steel beach” concept for the home. He said, "The house has a very reflective feeling to it, all with the mirrors and chrome. I wanted the sense of water throughout."

Something never done before in the BB home is the bench seat pictured above in the living room.

Scott said, "We needed a more feminine room and the thought of the 'beach at night' was right. The 'drapery' in the room is all steel chain, not fabric, and keeps with the steel in the rest of the house."
A passion for comic books is felt all around.

Scott admits, "Personally, I love comic books and our network executive shares that passion."

This certainly explains the fun concept by which this room was built around and brought together with the custom-made vibrant carpets and white frames against a bold black wall. Even the gorgeous duvet covers are custom stitched.

When it comes to the unique home décor, Scott said, "The sofas and chairs are custom built."

What makes these pieces truly special? "You cant go out and find many of the pieces found inside the BB house," Scott added.

Each room has special added touches that have been creatively thought up by Scott and his hard-working design team. And, the décor from the house comes from lots of different places.

It's always amazing to hear the inspiration behind a killer design concept.

For Scott, designing the Big Brother living room has always been the jumping off point for the rest of the house. After all, it is where the Houseguests spend a majority of their summer kickin' back and getting to know each other.

Scott said, "The massive steel wave and the sunset comic book graphic behind it were my first thoughts this season."

The Houseguests will receive exciting news through these screens and will also keep up with who's left in the game with cast headshots. As a Houseguest is evicted each week, their photo will then fade from the memory wall.
The kitchen is the heart of the house.

Scott explains the detail that went into designing a modern and functional kitchen.

"The blue 'half tone' texture on the walls feels like bubbles. The cabinets are all steel-faced, with upper cabinets covered in mirror plexiglass."

Steel I-beams were used to give the kitchen a more expansive feel. Even the center island sits on two large I-beams to keep with the industrial angle of the design.

Each year, Scott is able to completely reinvent the design of the house, leaving Housegests and BB fans simply loving the space.

He said, "To be honest, it is a challenge to come up with a different concept every year. I am lucky to have a great team who all contributes to the look."

This hangout area seems like it'll be the perfect showmance snuggle area, don't you think?

"I wanted the sense of standing in a pool of water in this room and it works," Scott said.

Lots of fun is in store for Season 17. A pool, places to lounge, and a hot tub? Sounds pretty ideal to us!

When Scott and his team renovated last year's house, they tore the space apart and put it back together again in an entirely different way. Take, for example, this new backyard space, which includes lots of fun toys and places to relax.

What advice would Scott give a fan who wants to give their living space a BB renovation? "Don’t be afraid of color, mix things up. Oh, add 80 cameras to your place while you’re at it."

We can just picture it now—a bunch of BB Houseguests gathered together on this extra-spacious day bed.

Where would Scott spend most his time if he were a BB Houseguest?

"While I really do love the house, the idea of spending all summer inside is something I could not do! I guess if I had to, I would hang out on the bridge and enjoy the view."
Oh, the hot tub!

There's never a dull moment around the Big Brother hot tub because that's where all the small talk, gossip, scheming, and laughing happens! All you Feeders know what we're talking about.

21. Scott compares last year's design to this year's.

"Last year, the house was an 'urban tree house', and, thus, it was based on wood and trees, with exposed hardware and details that were more akin to camping. I always work to flip the tone of the house from year to year. This year, the house is all steel and glass. If last year’s house was a freckled red head, this year’s house is a platinum blonde.”

With the sea concept dominating the first floor's theme of the house, Scott wanted the the top floor theme to be the "sky" above.

"I call the HoH room the 'sky box.' It’s all clouds, with more clear plexiglass and steel I-beams just like our new bridge area," Scott explained.

With so much fun in the house, there will surely be times the HoH needs a minute to refresh and get some alone time. This space has a very reflective feel to it, especially with the mirror and chrome embellishments scattered throughout.

With a lot to deliberating to do, the HoH will certainly enjoy kicking back in his or her own space, especially with all the lovely, custom touches in the winning boudoir. There's even enough space for company, if they so choose.
