ICYMI Most Watercooler-Worthy Moments From BB17, Ep. 16

Johnny Mac gives Clay advice about being on the block.

Johnny Mac gives Clay advice about being on the block.

After losing the latest BOB competition, Clay went to the one person who could truly relate to that sinking feeling of defeat: Former professional pawn, Johnny Mac. The well-seasoned POV competitor offered up some sage advice, telling Clay to keep calm and battle on.

Oh, how the tables have turned!

The Houseguests get nutty during the POV competition.

The Houseguests get nutty during the POV competition.

Is there anything better than seeing a bunch of adults chasing their nuts? We didn't think so.

During this week's POV competition, the participating Houseguests channeled their inner-rodent and rabidly scrounged for acorns. In order to scamper home with the golden medal of immunity, each person needed to successfully roll their nut over a ledge 250 times without dropping it on the ground.

Clay, Liz, Shelli, Vanessa, Becky, and Johnny Mac scurried back-and-forth, frantically chasing their own tails, while most of the non-competiting Houseguests rooted for the furry gatherers.

In the end, only one bushy-tailed competitor could become the champion. With no mistakes, Clay soared through the end of the challenge, stuffing his competition further into the ground than a squirrel hiding acorns before winter.
Austin goes in for the smooch.

Austin goes in for the smooch.

Love is in the air—at least for Austin.

This pro-wrestling Romeo is quickly falling for the Florida beach babe; unfortunately, she doesn't feel the same way. That's why it was hard not to cringe when the bearded giant went in for a kiss after the pair's bedroom tickle fight.

Sorry, Judas, but this little showmance might be more "show" than you think.

Steve makes a new friend—and it's an inanimate object.

Austin wasn't the only one making special connections this week.

While Steve sought out some quiet time in the photobooth, he was interrupted by a particularly nosey camera, which followed the student's every move. At first, Steve appeared frustrated, but then he seemed to bond with the high-tech recording device.

Guess you could say it was love at first camera angle!
A few lucky Houseguests enjoyed a fancy steak dinner.

Vanessa, James, and Liz got to collect their award for winning the "Splashing Headlines" competition, and they couldn't have been happier. Each of the hungry champs got to select one additional Houseguest to invite to dinner. Vanessa and Liz chose Becky and Austin, respectively, both of whom had really crummy weeks.

When it was time for James to choose, instead of picking potential showmance flame, he picked Clay, someone he knew could really handle a hunk of meat.

Shelli was bummed she had to spend a few hours away from Clay's abs her boo, but the Texas boy assured his little Georgia Peach he'd be thinking of her in the most romantic way possible: By offering to bring back "a steak in his pants."
Austin begs Vanessa not to put him on the block.

Austin begs Vanessa not to put him on the block.

All week, the Sixth Sense alliance had been planning to backdoor Austin after he betrayed their trust and disclosed important #TwinTwist information to Jason. But just before the crew could go through with the bold move, Liz came to the tattooed romantic's rescue.

Vanessa confronted Liz about Austin's plan to do whatever he needed—which included targeting Julia—to get the two of them to the jury house, and appeared shocked to learn that Liz wasn't creeped out at all. Instead, Liz defended Austin and convinced the other alliance members that keeping Austin in the game would be in all of their best interests.

Later that day, Vanessa came clean about her plan to ax the wrestler from the game, giving him a chance to plead his case. While she didn't make any promises, Austin seemed confident he'd be staying around for another week.
Vanessa throws Jason under the bus.

Vanessa throws Jason under the bus.

After Clay used the POV to get himself off the block, Vanessa was forced to make an incredibly difficult decision. Would she put up Austin, the one person she felt closest to in the game, or would she shock everyone else by nominating an unsuspecting Houseguest?

In a truly groundbreaking move, Vanessa blindsided the sassy grocery store bagger and sat him on the block alongside Becky.

Will Jason find a way to survive for another week, or will he find himself back in the basement sooner than he thought?
