All The Times OTEV Rocked The Big Brother House

The Big Brother staple called OTEV made another appearance during Season 21, this time taking the shape of a paranoid pigeon who needed the Houseguests to collect a variety of medications named after memorable competitions from earlier in the summer.

The all-powerful Big Brother deity known as OTEV made another appearance during the landmark 20th season of BB, once again changing shapes. 

For this Veto competition, OTEV took the form of the Sneezy Skunk, drenching the competing Houseguests in snot and smelly spray as they rushed to find the right medicine bottles in exchange for the coveted Power of Veto.

Big Brother 19 surprised the Houseguests with a visit from OTEV, "The Possessed Piglet," who came to the backyard with one request—a little help harvesting "soles" from the haunted swamp.

After the cute piglet turned into a cursed hog and began throwing up on the competitors, the Houseguests knew that this slippery, do-or-die comp would not be an easy one.

The Season 18 Houseguests raved in the backyard when OTEV "The Dopest DJ" took the stage to spin some da-da-da-dope tunes at the Electric BB Festival.

In a very posh British accent, the flippant frog made the competing players sift through a dank bog to return some turnt tracks. Though she may've had an epic fall during the competition, Michelle grooved her way onto the last lily pad just in time to drop the bass and win the golden Power Of Veto! 

Do you know what goes best with rocking-good rolls? Butter, of course.

Okay, so for this specific Rockin' Roll, the answer is actually buttaaaaaa! If the remaining Houseguests were able to bring back the desired sticks of golden goodness without getting in a food fight, the rock god would grant one groupie person the Power of Veto. Two things stick out from this competition: Liz's somewhat unexpected win and Meg's cringeworthy fall. Poor #GrandmaMeg!

OTEV might look all cute and cuddly, but don't get on this guy’s bad side! All this finicky flightless bird wanted was a cold drink to balance out the tropical setting of this POV competition. Major props go to Zach for being the one Houseguest able to quench OTEV's thirst—and whose win allowed him to take himself off the block.

Fun fact: famed comedian Gilbert Gottfried was the voice of this aggro aquatic animal!

This devastated woodland creature had tears streaming down his face when he begged the remaining Season 15 Houseguests to find a stack of lost love letters he'd already penned to the previously evicted players.

Elissa ended up being the final Houseguest who stood—and delivered—the missing messages. The win didn't gain her any brownie points with her fellow HGs, but it did allow her the opportunity to pull herself off the block.

Strange things happened in the backyard during this POV competition!

OTEV needed the earthling Houseguests to help him find fuel for this spaceship. Dan, who won the coveted necklace, didn't snag a ride on the otherworldly vessel, but he did manage to walk away with the ability to pull Jenn off the block.

Oddly enough, this seemingly friendly shark had a not-so-guilty pleasure for sweets, so the Houseguests had to find which tasty pie OTEV craved and hoped, once presented, it would be yummy enough to win the POV. 

Lucky for Adam, who won the competition, OTEV took a bite out of the tasty pastry and not one of the unlucky Houseguests.

In Season 12, OTEV sailed right into the Houseguests' hearts the second he opened his shell and belted out some sassy showtunes.

In this POV competition, OTEV had the HGs search through the mud for his lost top tracks. Who won the title? Let's all wave some jazz hands in Enzo's direction for dominating this song and dance routine.

OTEV—which, for those who don't consider themselves students of etymology, spells "Veto" backwards—has long been a fan favorite for Big Brother Houseguests and fans alike.

The mythical creature first appeared in Season 7 during the "Voo Doo Dolls" POV competition and challenged the remaining group of Houseguests to answer a list of questions regarding past moments in the house, collect the corresponding stuffed effigy, and bring the initialed figure back to him as a sort of sacrifice. Who won this difficult comp? None other than Janelle!

Since then, OTEV has recurred during several Power of Veto competitions and, each year, the icon's booming voice has sent HGs racing around the BB backyard to find various items and quickly return them to the powerful figure.
