Jaime Camil
Biography
Jaime Camil is one of the most influential Latin American actors in the world, as one of the top five most-recognized and beloved Mexicans in his country. Camil began his career as a singer performing alongside Cuban icons Amaury Gutierrez and Pancho Cespedes. He recorded four platinum selling albums and starred in many Broadway musicals, including West Side Story, Hook, Aladdin, El Diluvio Que Viene, and The Mambo Kings.

Next, he began starring in telenovelas in Mexico, including Por Ella Soy Eva, Que Pobres Tan Ricos, and the mega hit telenovela La Fea Más Bella.

Following these successful projects, Camil became a household name while on the critically acclaimed series Jane the Virgin, from 2014-2019. During the series' run, Vanity Fair named him one of the Best New TV Characters, and he received many awards, including an Imagen Award for Best Supporting Actor – Television, two Teen Choice Awards for Choice TV Actor: Comedy, an NHMC Impact Award for Outstanding Performance in a Television Series, a Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Series, an AFI Award for TV Program of the Year, a PEABODY award, and two Critics' Choice nominations for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

In 2016 he starred as Billy Flynn on Broadway in America's longest-running hit musical Chicago, and the following year he played the role of Sam Carmichael opposite Jennifer Nettles in the Hollywood Bowl production of Mamma Mia!

Camil has starred in many award-winning films, including Pulling Strings; 200 Cartas, alongside Lin-Manuel Miranda; and 7 Dias, which earned him the Best Supporting Actor honors from the Premios ACE and the Mexican Cinema Journalists respectively. In 2017 Camil voiced Papá Julio in the Academy Award-winning animated feature and top-grossing film of all time in Mexico, Coco. Recently, he starred in and executive produced the Pantelion film My Boyfriend's Meds.
