Gbenga Akinnagbe as Lando Mutabazi

Gbenga Akinnagbe as Lando Mutabazi

Carrying a gun isn't much of a help for Lando Mutabazi.

In "Justice x 2" the aspiring comedian goes home with the wrong woman. Though he initially believes Sonia Karmanzi (Emayatzy Corinealdi) is just an attractive woman with an interest in his stand-up comedy set she turns out to be a spiritually conflicted fellow Rwandan out for revenge.

David does his best to help Lando but instead finds himself in a harrowing situation.

Sometimes justice and mercy are about as clear as good and evil.

Gbenga Akinnagbe seems to be a favorite of Evil creators Robert and Michelle King, appearing in their hit series The Good Wife as Pastor Isaiah Easton. He's also had guest-star turns on the CBS series Blue Bloods and Madam Secretary.

Dan Bittner as Dwight Farrell

And he would've gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for those meddling investigators!

Dwight Farrell isn't all he seems in "Vatican III" and despite his insistence that his concern is for his possibly possessed—and maybe murderous—wife, he harbors darkness in his own heart. If not for David, Ben, and Kristen, his evil plans may have gone unnoticed.

Brooke Bloom as Emily LeRoux

Brooke Bloom as Emily LeRoux

Life's rough when your husband is potentially possessed by a demon and murders six people.

Emily LeRoux is faced with just that dilemma when her husband, Orson LeRoux (Darren Pettie), becomes Kristen's first case with David and Ben. Kristen is convinced he's making it all up when he says he was possessed when he killed his victims, but after hearing Emily's recording of a strange voice speaking to her husband in "Genesis 1," she's not so sure.

Brooke Bloom also appears on another Robert and Michelle King series, BrainDead, as Abby Summers, and appeared in a guest role on The Good Wife.

Patrick Brammall as Andy Bouchard

Patrick Brammall as Andy Bouchard

Andy Bouchard feels like a figment of Kristen's imagination, but the absentee father soon rejoins the Bouchard family after completing his Everest trek.

And a good thing, too. As Kristen is increasingly sucked into bizarre cases with David and Ben—not to mention the drama with Leland Townsend (Michael Emerson) and her mother (Christine Lahti)—Andy has to make up for lost time and take the wheel watching out for their four children.

Catch more of Patrick Brammall on CBS All Access' original series No Activity, where he stars as police detective Nick Cullen.

Danny Burstein as Lewis Cormier

Danny Burstein as Lewis Cormier

Sometimes, a job just isn't the right fit.

Kristen Bouchard has to make that difficult decision about working with District Attorney Lewis Cormier, who hired Kristen to testify as an expert witness in her capacity as a forensic psychologist. But when the two are forced to face off in "Genesis 1" over Kristen's unwillingness to testify in a way that benefits the D.A.'s case, the two part ways.

That's not the last Evil audiences see of Lewis Cormier, however, especially once Leland Townsend gets his claws into him.

Kristen Connolly as Mira Byrd

Even when you're investigating otherworldly phenomena, a friend in the local police department still comes in handy.

For Kristen Bouchard, that friend is Mira Byrd. Kristen's longtime climbing buddy, Mira is a detective who helps Kristen and her cohorts out more than once.

Her first appearance is to help with the investigation on Bridget, the woman who confesses to murder during an exorcism in "Vatican III."

Emayatzy Corinealdi as Sonia Karmanzi

Emayatzy Corinealdi as Sonia Karmanzi

Not everyone on Evil is always what they seem, but some reveal their true colors faster than others.

Sonia Karmanzi quickly turns out to be more than meets the eye in "Justice x 2" when she imprisons Lando in her basement to exact revenge for what she believes to be certain wrongs he committed back in Rwanda.

David's priestly training is challenged as he attempts to give her spiritual guidance as both men are subjected to Sonia's vengeful intentions.

Vondie Curtis-Hall as Leon Acosta

Vondie Curtis-Hall as Leon Acosta

The prodigal son returns! Or, at least, David does in "2 Fathers," reuniting after some time with his estranged father Leon.

David isn't very approving of his father's lifestyle—particularly the throuple relationship his father is involved in and his father's new baby on the way—but he's forced to reunite when a sigil that crops up in the Poveglia Codex appears in Leon's art.

John Glover as Byron Duke

John Glover as Byron Duke

Many people may think their boss is the devil, but in "3 Stars," that hyperbole is one assistant's (Dascha Polanco) reality.

Byron Duke, a famous theater producer, crosses the line from demanding to potentially demonic, so his assistant brings it to the attention of the Church. Kristen, David, and Ben are called in to check out whether narcissism or something far more sinister is to blame.

Ben is able to explain away some of the concerns, but in the end, there may be more at work that defies explanation.

Finding yourself a fan of the over-the-top Byron? John Glover also recurred on The Good Wife as Jared Andrews, and reprised the role for one episode of The Good Fight.

Renee Elise Goldsberry as Renée Harris

Renee Elise Goldsberry as Renée Harris

Americans have a reputation for being quick to sue, but in "Exorcism Part 2," the plaintiff has a pretty good reason—being accused of hosting a demon and then tortured during an unnecessary exorcism.

When Caroline Hopkins (Karen Pittman) brings a suit against the Church after a supposedly successful exorcism is conducted on her, the Church calls in Renée Harris—the sister of David's deceased former flame—to defend them.

Renée proves a sharp and devious attorney and, with Kristen's help, concocts a defense that gets David and the Church out of some hot water.

It's not Renee Elise Goldsberry's first time playing a lawyer in a Robert and Michelle King series. She also played Assistant State's Attorney Geneva Pine on the creators' hit series The Good Wife.

Jayne Houdyshell as Judge Sarah Carla Shire

Jayne Houdyshell as Judge Sarah Carla Shire

It isn't easy to preside over a case like mass murderer Orson LeRoux's appeal, but Judge Sarah Carla Shire has that unfortunate responsibility in "Justice x 2."

Dwight Farrell, who previously confessed to the murder of three young boys in "Vatican III," comes forward to claim responsibility for the murders that put LeRoux away. Kristen isn't buying it, but it's Judge Shire who gets the final say.

Scott Ian as the Butcher

Scott Ian as the Butcher

Guest appearances can sometimes be brief, but the best ones are unforgettable.

The Butcher makes his first and only horrifying appearance in "Rose390" when Kristen's daughters receive augmented reality goggles from their grandmother. A horror game called The Haunted Girl attracts their attention but is a far twistier challenge than they were expecting, thanks in part to a nearly unrecognizable guest spot by the Anthrax guitarist.

Clark Johnson as Father Amara

Clark Johnson as Father Amara

Even priests need a second opinion sometimes. And on Evil, that's where Father Amara comes in.

Father Amara, a devout believer, first provides backup for David in "3 Stars," when Byron Duke may be "diabolically obsessed." He returns as the authority on exorcism in "Rose390," called in to perform an emergency exorcism on a disturbed young boy.

In "October 31," Father Amara conducts an exorcism on Caroline Hopkins, arguing with Dr. Boggs who believes she's mentally ill and not possessed. It is in "Vatican III" that Amara is brought on board to help with the exorcism of Bridget Farrell.

Luke Judy as Eric McCrystal

Creepy children are a standby for horror, so it makes sense Evil would feature at least one. (Spoiler: there's actually more than one).

Eric McCrystal is a previously unaffected child who starts to exhibit alarming symptoms after his younger sister is born in "Rose390". At first, it seems like David's attempts to get through to Eric are working, but when he misinterprets David's explanation of prayer, disturbing events ensue.

Megan Ketch as Judy James

After David is attacked in "7 Swans a Singin," investigators suspect one of David's previous subjects, Richard Ghana, may be the culprit. Ben and Kristen team up with Judy James, Kristen's predecessor, to find Ghana in "Room 320."

Gruff but persistent, Judy leads the team to Ghana's old roommate, who provides the key to tracking down David's assailant.

Li Jun Li as Grace Ling

Prophets can be found in the unlikeliest of places. Or at least that's what happens in "Let x = 9" when a daycare worker, Grace Ling, starts giving out prophecies to locals, many of which come true.

On top of that, Grace's direct line to God allows her to fill in missing parts of the Poveglia Codex, an ancient text with unknown meanings. David, Ben, and Kristen are called in to investigate, but before Grace can provide the insight they need she's arrested by ICE on an expired visa.

It's not clear what happens to Grace after that, but she goes on to make another appearance in "Room 320" during one of David's hallucinations—or is it?

Taylor Louderman as Malindaz

Taylor Louderman as Malindaz

To some, the idea that influencer culture could veer toward the sinister isn't too out there.

This dark thought plays out in "7 Swans a Singin" when YouTube star Malindaz is revealed as the initial source of a viral demonic song stuck in the minds of schoolgirls who are then driven to self-harm. In true Evil fashion, the damage done by Melindaz may ultimately be the work of some greater wicked force.

Taylor Louderman plays another unconventional blonde on CBS All AccessThe Good Fight, where she recurred in Season 3 as Tara Stokes, a mysterious woman who offers to help Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski).

Nana Mensah as Esther

Nana Mensah as Esther

Two's a couple, but three's a crowd? Evidently not for David's father, Leon (Vondie Curtis-Hall).

When David returns to his father's home in "2 Fathers," he meets Esther, Leon's wife and an expectant mother. And, then, a few moments later, he meets Cory, his father's other wife. These developments in his father's life are more than a little unexpected, but nothing could be stranger than when Esther unexpectedly goes into labor with Kristen as the only witness.

Nana Mensah has appeared in two other shows available to stream on CBS All Access, The Good Fight and Madam Secretary.

It all starts with Orson.

Arrested for the murder of six people, Orson LeRoux kicks off Kristen's involvement with David and Ben in "Genesis 1" after she's called in as an expert witness to determine whether he's possessed. Orson ends up in prison, but Kristen hasn't seen the last of him.

Karen Pittman as Caroline Hopkins

Karen Pittman as Caroline Hopkins

Relationships are put to the test in "October 31," when David, Kristen, and Ben are called in to aid in the exorcism of Caroline Hopkins.

After observing Caroline's behavior, Kristen is convinced she needs to be under the treatment of a medical doctor and asks Dr. Boggs (Kurt Fuller) to join for precisely that purpose. Once Dr. Boggs gets a look at Caroline, he determines she's suffering from a mental illness and Kristen concurs.

David and Kristen's trust in each other is tested when Kristen decides to disprove the exorcism in secret.

Caroline appears again in "Exorcism Part 2," suing the Church over her treatment during the exorcism.

Dascha Polanco as Patti Hitchens

Dascha Polanco as Patti Hitchens

Patti Hitchens is used to working for an egotistical and overbearing boss, but even she knows the difference between tortured and talented—and supernatural and evil.

The God-fearing personal assistant turns to David, Kristen, and Ben after her megawatt theater producer boss, Byron Duke (John Glover), starts exhibiting strange symptoms, leading her to believe he's possessed in "3 Stars."

The team finds a few explanations for his behavior and Patti reports a real turnaround in his behavior, but evil is never too far away.

Noah Robbins as Sebastian Lewin

Noah Robbins as Sebastian Lewin

Sebastian Lewin, alt-right masochist or pawn of Leland Townsend?

Sebastian makes his first appearance in "3 Stars," as a former IT guy for Byron Duke who hijacks his voice-activated virtual assistant as revenge for non-payment. But Sebastian makes a more sinister return in "Vatican III" and "Exorcism Part 2," turning to Leland Townsend for therapy after a barista turns down his advances.

Instead, Townsend provides fuel for his hate, prompting him to acquire guns and plan a shooting spree—a nefarious plan that doesn't quite play out as Leland had hoped.

Peter Scolari as Bishop Thomas Marx

Peter Scolari as Bishop Thomas Marx

Making strong moves means drawing strong gazes.

Bishop Thomas Marx is reassigned to David's church after David and the team's activities draw the attention of the Vatican in "Exorcism Part 2." David is on the defensive as he and the Church are sued by a woman who claims she was harmed in an unnecessary exorcism.

Bishop Marx continues to work with the team on a few other cases, including the possibly cursed song plaguing schoolgirls in "7 Swans a Singin" and aiding in David's rescue from an evil nurse in "Room 320."

Nicole Shalhoub as Vanessa Dudley

Nicole Shalhoub as Vanessa Dudley

A show about the supernatural in 2020 can't exist without making a reference to the myriad of ghost hunting shows that exist in the real world. In Evil, that reference comes in the form of Gotham Ghosts starring Vanessa Dudley.

Ben first encounters Vanessa in "October 31" when they get into a Twitter debate over the authenticity of her show. She asks him to guest star on the show as a skeptic—a role she usually fills herself, though not to Ben's satisfaction.

Turns out two skeptics make a good team and Vanessa may not be to blame for believing elements of the supernatural do exist.

Jordana Spiro as Ema Serpagli

Jordana Spiro as Ema Serpagli

As if dealing with Leland Townsend's nonstop vendetta against her wasn't exhausting enough, Kristen has to face her literal demons once again when Orson LeRoux (Darren Pettie), her first case with the team, wins his appeal after Dwight Farrell (Dan Bittner) confesses to LeRoux's supposed crimes in "Justice x 2."

Ema Serpagli is LeRoux's lawyer, backing Kristen and the prosecutorial team into a corner and forcing Kristen to provide information that makes her detective friend, Mira Byrd (Kristen Connolly), look less credible.

You can watch Jordana Spiro put her acting chops into action on The Good Wife as well, where she portrays Detective Jenna Villette.

Tara Summers as Nurse Linda Bloch

Tara Summers as Nurse Linda Bloch

Recuperating from a knife attack is hard enough, but in "Room 320," David also deals with a maniacal nurse, who has painful and villainous tactics for "treating" her black patients.

It's not always clear how much of what David sees is real and how much is the work of his over-medicated brain.

As David's nightmare scenario plays out, it's clear Nurse Bloch does not have his best interests and health at heart... and may have far more sinister and occult intentions for her patients.
