The Kennedy Center Honors is an annual honor bestowed upon performing artists recognizing their outstanding contributions to the American Culture. The weekend-long ceremony is comprised of the Chairman's Luncheon, State Department dinner, White House reception, and culminating in a star-studded gala including powerful performances and moving tributes celebrating the honorees in the Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington, D.C.

This year's class of phenomenal artists added to The Kennedy Center Honors' rich history includes operatic bass-baritone Justino Díaz; Motown founder, songwriter, producer, and director Berry Gordy; “Saturday Night Live” creator Lorne Michaels; legendary stage and screen icon Bette Midler; and singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell.
