"E Pluribus Unum" will involve the show's own Secretary of State, Elizabeth McCord (Téa Leoni), turning to the three leaders for advice on how to respond to a delicate situation. The episode will air on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 10/9c on CBS and CBS All Access.
Albright previously appeared on Madam Secretary in 2015, lending her wisdom to McCord in "The Doability Doctrine" (Episode 2, Season 2).
The first woman to become Secretary of State, Albright held the position from 1997 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton. General Colin Powell served as Secretary of State from 2001 until 2005 under President George Bush. Hillary Clinton served as Secretary of State from 2009 until 2013 under President Barack Obama.
The guest stars filmed their scenes on July 11, during the first week of production for the upcoming season. Executive Producer and Series Creator Barbara Hall said, "It was a privilege to experience their perspectives and discourse both in and behind the scenes."
Executive Producer Lori McCreary described it as awe-inspiring and humbling. "That we were able to find a time in their busy schedules when they were all available is a miracle," she added.
