Walter And Paige: It's Complicated

Will they or won't they?

Will they or won't they?

Throughout the past two seasons of ScorpionPaige and Walter have shown undeniable chemistry, but there's always something that manages to keep them apart. Whether it's bad timing or trying to remain professional (or, in Walter's case, straight up denying his real feelings), the relationship between these two is, well... complicated. Let's take a look back at some of #Waige's closest encounters.

When they put their kiss to the test.

After Paige kissed Walter in the Season 1 finale, the pair decided to kiss again to see if their "theory" was based on hypotheticals or concrete proof. The two lip locked and there were clearly sparks, but Walter concluded that "feelings would interfere with Scorpion" and that the two should avoid romance.

When Walter risked the "greater good" to save Paige and Ralph.

Though the leader of Team Scorpion is always talking about doing things for the "greater good," he risked his own life to save Paige and Ralph. His choice seemed greater to him than the "greater good."

When Walter finally let his guard down about his sister's death.

Losing Megan was hard on the whole team—Walter in particular. After losing his sister, the genius shut down and attempted to compartmentalize his pain. When his pet ferret escaped its cage, Walter lost his cool, puzzling Team Scorpion by throwing a fit and yelling that "he didn’t want to lose her." He broke down in tears after finally admitting how much pain he was in—and Paige immediately embraced him.

When they held hands on the beach as Walter's rocket took off.

Before Megan passed away, Walter built a rocket ship in an attempt to win a $15 million grant that he would put toward saving her. He won the prize after her death and, instead of turning in the rocket for the money, joined Team Scorpion on the beach to launch Megan's ashes into space.

In a touching moment, Walter admitted that he should probably open up more. #Waige held hands as they watched the rocket soar toward the heavens.

When Paige was obviously jealous of Linda.

After an awkward speed-dating encounter and an even more awkward second date (she showed up in the garage strapped with a bomb), Linda stopped by to ask Walter out for another shot at romance. Though the pair were speaking away from the group, Paige overheard and was clearly unamused by their plans.

When Walter risked his life to save Paige in a tornado.

While in Vietnam, Team Scorpion stared down a huge tornado. First, Walter tried to kick Paige out of a truck so she wouldn't be endangered by a potential suicide mission to cool down the twister with dry ice. She insisted on staying by his side. They managed to pull off the plan, but as Walter and Paige were escaping their truck died, leaving them to get caught up in the twister. While trying to hook Paige to a tree to ride out the tornado, Walter slipped and had to grab her with one hand. Literally risking life and limb, Walter held onto Paige until the storm broke.

When Walter was none too pleased about Tim and Paige dating.

Walter dug his own grave after deciding to take Linda on another date. He figured that he would be foolish not to go to dinner with a beautiful, smart woman. Walter also explained his thought process to Tim, of whom he's clearly jealous.

Tim then disclosed that he was planning to ask Paige out, much to Walter’s chagrin. What could possibly be worse? Tim used the same rationale as Walter.

When Paige literally breathed life into him.

When Walter and Paige were trapped in the Chernobyl power plant with their only exit blocked by a downed plane, the genius came up with a solution: scale the building to get out via the roof. As they reached the top, Walter dropped his oxygen tank and it tumbled out of reach. Given his depleted oxygen level, he couldn't gather enough strength to pull up on the final beam.

Paige took in her tank’s last breath of oxygen, lowered herself down, and locked lips to give Walter just enough strength to summit the beam.
