Actor, writer, and producer David Koechner is perhaps best known for his roles as Todd Packer on The Office and Champ Kind in Anchorman and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
Growing up in Tipton, MO, Koechner worked for his father in the family's turkey coop manufacturing business. After college, he moved to Chicago and studied improvisation at the iO (formerly known as the ImprovOlympic) and went on to become an ensemble member of Second City Theater Northwest. Koechner got his first big break as a cast member of Saturday Night Live. Since then, he has appeared in more than 150 films and television shows.
His notable film credits include Krampus, Cheap Thrills, Roadside Attraction's Priceless, Waiting, Out Cold, Talladega Nights, Get Smart, Extract, Thank You for Smoking, and Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse.
In addition to his role on Superior Donuts, Koechner appears in the comedies Another Period and The Goldbergs. Also, he voices recurring characters on several animated series, including American Dad, F Is for Family, and All Hail King Julien. Recently, Koechner appeared in Showtime's Twin Peaks: The Return.
When not filming, Koechner performs stand-up comedy across the country and creates original videos for his YouTube channel, "Full On Koechner." Also, he co-hosts Big Slick Celebrity Weekend, an annual charity event benefitting Children's Mercy Hospital of Kansas City, along with fellow KC-area natives Rob Riggle, Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, and Eric Stonestreet.
