Kelly Wiglesworth reflects on her Second Chance experience.

Often remembered as the runner up of Survivor Borneo, Kelly Wiglesworth came back into the game this season—a whole 15 years later—stronger than ever. However, oEpisode 9 of Survivor Cambodia, the super fit and social castaway left a rainy Tribal Council after a very sudden blindside.

We were able to catch up with Kelly and she shared insights about her why she believes she was voted out, the three castaways she thinks will make it far, and what exciting project she's focusing her attention on now.
1. How surprised were you to discover you had been voted out?

1. How surprised were you to discover you had been voted out?

Kelly: "Pretty surprised. I figured my days were numbered, but I just didn't figure it was last night."
2. Do you think playing under the radar put you on the radar?

2. Do you think playing under the radar put you on the radar?

Kelly: "I don't think so. I mean, I really didn't have a whole lot of options. I was a target and a threat from Day 1, you know? People saw me as a threat, socially, [and] they saw me as a threat in challenges, so I don't think [it mattered] how I played—I was going to be a target.

If I came in hot, trying to make big moves, they would have been like, 'Hey, let's get her out of here,' so I really felt like playing under the radar was my only option and not trying to be perceived as very strong. It had been 15 years, so maybe some of them were thinking, 'Maybe she's not gonna be strong in challenges anymore. Oh yeah, she'll make it to the merge.' So I think that was the game I had to play."
3. Is there anything you would have done differently looking back at your Second Chance run?

3. Is there anything you would have done differently looking back at your Second Chance run?

Kelly: "Other than lift my foot a little quicker in last night's challenge? No."
4. Was coming back on Survivor all you hoped it would be?

4. Was coming back on Survivor all you hoped it would be?

Kelly: "Well, no, because I didn't win and that was ultimately what I was hoping for."
5. Who do you think is playing the best game?

5. Who do you think is playing the best game?

Kelly: "Physically and challenge-wise, Joe's playing a great game.

I think Kimmi and Keith have really good games going, [too]. They're both also sort of under the radar. Keith's very strong and fantastic at challenges. He's not much of a talker, but I think that's actually helping him. People aren't seeing him as a strategic threat at all so that's working to his advantage. Same with Kimmi. She's not seen as a challenge threat or whatnot, so that's helping her game too."
6. What does Survivor mean to you?

6. What does Survivor mean to you?

Kelly: "It's been an amazing experience. It's hard to sum up in just a few words. It's just been an incredible physical and social experience.

It's really sort of pushed me to a mental and physical level that I never thought I would experience in my life, and that's something that draws me to it."
7. What was your favorite challenge this season that you competed in?

7. What was your favorite challenge this season that you competed in?

Kelly: "The blindfolded challenge. That was hard, but that was really fun. I felt like we really earned that, you know what I mean? That was a win that was like, 'Yeah!'"
8. How would you compare your first day on your first season to the first day on Second Chance?

8. How would you compare your first day on your first season to the first day on Second Chance?

Kelly: "Oh gosh, well, the first day of my first season [Survivor: Borneo] we were just like, 'Oh my gosh, this is just so exciting!' We were high-fiving and hugging each other.

Whereas this time, it was like people went immediately off into the woods literally within 30 seconds of landing and I heard my name blowing in the trees as a target. I was thinking, 'Wow, wait a minute. What happened to let's be a team first for a second?'

So yeah, it was night and day in comparison."
9. Any final thoughts on the game, your strategy, and what you'll do next?

9. Any final thoughts on the game, your strategy, and what you'll do next?

Kelly: "I think the game is a lot more cutthroat than it's ever has been. People are out there playing hard and there didn't seem to be too much loyalty even amongst the loyal. I think if there is another Second Chance season, it's going to be probably even more elevated than this one. It just moves really fast and alliance and allegiances form really quickly.

[Right now] I'm back in Mexico, teaching yoga, and I have my yoga school. My next big project is I'm developing a line of pre-made healthy cocktail drinks. I'm pretty excited about it!"
