Senator Bernie Sanders sat down with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show on Thursday to discuss a certain book, the 2016 election, President Donald Trump, and moving the country forward.

Which book? Well, there's the all-new Bernie Sanders Guide To Political Revolution. But something that's also captured headlines is what Hillary Clinton wrote about her 2016 Democratic Primary opponent in her own What Happened.

In the first of two segments, Bernie responded to Hillary's allegations that his campaign attacks caused lasting damage and made it harder to unify progressives. He also spoke about how the issues he campaigned on in 2016 have seen progress in 2017, and what he wants Stephen to ask Hillary when she appears on The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

In the second segment, Stephen pressed Bernie to say something nice about the current president. In response, the Senator touched on a number of serious policy issues where he thinks it's possible for he and Trump to work together. He also spoke about his vision for health care as a human right and shared his perspective on the 2020 election.
