Michaela Watkins
Biography
Michaela Watkins has made her mark in the entertainment industry through a variety of impressive and unforgettable roles. She hails from the Los Angeles main stage company, The Groundlings Theater, where many Saturday Night Live alumni have performed. Watkins joined the SNL cast in the 2008-2009 season and won praise for her spot-on impressions of Arianna Huffington, Barbara Walters, and Hoda Kotb.
Watkins recent television credits include the series Casual, Catastrophe, and Search Party. Her additional credits include Trophy Wife, Veep, The Goldbergs, Married, The Comedians, New Girl, Enlightened, Modern Family, Childrens Hospital, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Parenthood, Key and Peele, The Kroll Show, Drunk History, Californication, and Transparent. Additionally, she appears in Get Shorty opposite Chris O'Dowd, and the limited series Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp opposite Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd. Also, Watkins executive produced, created, and wrote the comedy series Benched starring Eliza Coupe.
Watkins is an indie film favorite with performances in Lake Bell's In A World, Jill Soloway's Afternoon Delight, and Brigsby Bear opposite Kyle Mooney and Greg Kinnear. Most recently, Watkins starred in Brittany Runs a Marathon which opens in theaters in August. Additional film credits include the comedy Wanderlust opposite Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd, Ibiza opposite Gillian Jacobs and Vanessa Bayer, and The House opposite Will Ferrell. Coming up, Watkins will star alongside Ben Affleck in the film Torrance, due out in October 2019.
Born in Syracuse, NY, and raised in Boston, Watkins pursued a career in regional theater before moving to Los Angeles. She studied acting and theater, and received her B.F.A. from Boston University.
