As announced during the Super Bowl, The Good Wife is officially in its last season and only has a few episodes left before the big finale on May 8. Here's what you need to know about the highly anticipated conclusion.

Creators and Executive Producers Robert and Michelle King had already announced their plans to focus on new summer show for CBS after they concluded Season 7 of The Good Wife.

They Kings put Easter Eggs in the episode titles. All the episodes from the first season had one-word titles. Season 2's were two words, Season 3's three, and Season 4's four. Then they started counting down again, with Season 7's episodes again using just one word.

According to Robert King, they don't plan to jump ahead. "Our show has always been built on the continuity of the moment, that's why a lot of our episodes pick up where the last episode left off."

Expect to see where things end up with Kurt McVeigh (Gary Cole) and Diane Lockhart. As for other names? "We're in the works right now trying to get a few," said Robert King. "We want to see where people have ended up and landed."

The Kings say their big storyline priority is where Alicia and Peter wind up. They'll also address Alicia's empty nest with Grace leaving (after Zach left last year). Of course, they've also got more in store for Alicia's return to Agos, Lockhart & Lee, as well as her relationship with all the other major characters.

The Kings wouldn't confirm nor deny a happy ending, but Robert said that he likes series that end with "resonance." While it may not impact the final episodes of The Good Wife, he thinks some of the best on television managed to be both happy and sad at the same time. Michelle added that she admires when an ending is both "inevitable and surprising."
