The morning after the 23-year-old’s shocking win—which landed him a $500K check—he stopped by The Talk to share more about finale night, what he plans on doing with all that money, and what an honor it is to be the first Latino winner in the show's history.

"I told my mom I would be the first," said Josh. "And it happened!"

In addition to celebrating such a special feat, Josh revealed more behind his gameplay decisions, like why he took Paul to the end and not Christmas.

"I asked her a week before and she couldn’t promise that she’d take me to the end," he said. "She said it’d be best if I took Paul."

Josh, who knew that the Jury would hold bitterness toward Paul, said he was confident his salty goodbye messages could ensure him some finale votes.

And he was right about that.
