The Talk's #SeeHer Story Of The Day
The #SeeHer initiative seeks to increase the accurate representation of females in U.S. advertising and media.


Many leading advertisers and popular brands are working together to encourage positive change in the media. CBS Corporation is proud and committed to supporting #SeeHer, a powerful initiative created by the Association of National Advertisers.

The Talk has joined forces to support the #SeeHer initiative with a segment called #SeeHer Stories of the Day. These stories feature powerful women to increase the accurate representation of women and girls in U.S. advertising and media by 20% by 2020. Because "If you can SEE her, then you can BE her."

Today's story discussed Widows star Viola Davis, who is on the cover of Hollywood Reporter's "2018 Women in Entertainment Power 100" issue.

She tells the magazine how her thoughts on beauty have shifted over the years. She says, "I never cared about being pretty. I came to L.A., and all of a sudden, I care about being pretty because I feel like that is my way of being accepted."

Her thoughts on the topic have changed and she says, "Once I decided I didn't care about that, I feel pretty good! It's lightened my load."
