The Talk Salutes The Troops

Posted on Jul 4, 2017 11:00am

On Independence Day, The Talk is honoring the men and women of the U.S. military who have made huge sacrifices to keep our country free and safe.

The show teamed up with the Wounded Warrior Project and invited three veterans—Sal Gonzalez, Taniki Richard, and Steve Bohn—who shared their personal stories, talked about how Wounded Warrior Project's life-saving programs changed their lives for the better, and how they're now helping to support the nation's troops as they return home.

Host Sheryl Underwood, a former member of the Air Force Reserves, was presented with the Wounded Warrior Project Challenge Coin by Sal, who expressed his heartfelt thanks on behalf of all the wounded heroes she has helped.

Challenge Coins are a long-standing tradition in the military as a symbol of service members' loyalty. They're also given to civilians in recognition of their exceptional dedication to a shared cause.
