"The Talk@Home" hosts discuss an alarming trend of how coronavirus is disproportionately killing the African American community and the BET's special "Saving OurSelves: A BET Covid-19 Relief Effort" to provide educational and financial resources. "I'm really happy that BET is doing this," say Sheryl Underwood. "If we don't get a handle on this in our community, it's gonna affect every community. We are out there on the front lines, the teachers, the bus drivers, the grocery store workers, you know, the doctors, the lawyers, the nurses, and so on... I think the best thing we can do is join BET in this noble endeavor." "Shout out to BET as well," reacts Eve. "It's really sad that obviously it's hard for everyone to get tested and things like that, but obviously people in lower income neighborhoods are going to be lowest on the totem pole." She adds, "It shouldn't be about your race, your color, whatever, not to be able to get the help that you need, it's just a really sad thing."
