'Designing Women' Reboot: Annie Potts Says 'Mary Jo' Should be 'Governor'
Thursday on 'The Talk,' Annie Potts confirms details about the 'Designing Women' reboot. "Yes, that's true. Our wonderful creator Linda Bloodworth-Thomason is writing the script now, and I think it will be sort of a new generation type thing, but I'm hoping to be a part of it in some way. You know, I have the other thing [CBS' 'Young Sheldon'] going too, I'm awfully happy doing that, but I wouldn't mind double dipping on that a little." When asked where she'd like to see her character Mary Jo going, Potts shares, "I talked with Linda a little about that and told her I thought it was important that we see she had evolved... I said, 'Can I be the Governor of Georgia?' She said, 'I don't know if you could be governor, what about the Mayor of Atlanta?' I hope by the time it happens they do have a woman governor in Georgia, for real."
Air Date: Nov 15, 2018
