On "The Talk@Home" Wednesday, anchor Tony Dokoupil shares a preview of his upcoming racial injustice report for "CBS This Morning." "What I was looking at is how Black people and White people look at our racial problems completely different. White Americans will tell you that Black Americans have an equal chance of getting a job in America. Black Americans don't agree. White Americans will tell you that there are not significant problems tied to the legacy of slavery. Black Americans will disagree. So we're kind of talking past each other and I wanted to get at that somehow." In his report, he says, "I just walked up to other white people on the street in Connecticut and I said; 'Can we talk about race?' People never define it in a way that implicates themselves. In fact, it exonerates them. So to them, a racist is a bad person who does a bad thing... because the color of their skin and it leaves out this bigger problem that we're trying to wrap our arms around now, which is the system, right? There are massive inequalities and we have to acknowledge the racism that we all are contributing to in that system if we're ever going to fix it."
