Jane Fonda on Regina King's Golden Globe Speech; Says "We haven't come far enough."
Award-winning actresses Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin visit "The Talk" Friday and discuss Regina King's recent Golden Globe speech promising to employ future projects with 50% females. Host Carrie Ann Inaba asks, "Do you think we've come far enough with gender equality." "No we haven't come far enough. We've come a little bit, but we haven't come far enough. I'm too old to produce now, because it takes so long but if I would, I would do that, what she did," says Fonda. "I'll be there to back you up," adds her "Grace and Frankie" co-star Lily Tomlin. "I think we need women on every level because what people don't realize is, you see a lot of women here. You see women talking but what you don't realize is, the decisions are made by guys, usually white ones...and that has to change and our stories are different, right? So guys lose out when women...don't put out their own narrative, guys lose out on knowing what half the truth is."
