Get ready to do your celebration dance, because we've got big news. Thanks to your viewership, The Young and the Restless has been Daytime's no. 1 drama for 27 consecutive years!

Now in its 42nd season, Y&R has been the most-watched daytime soap since the week of Dec. 26, 1988—that's 1,405 straight weeks on top.

"Spending a few seasons at no. 1 is a remarkable achievement for any show on television today, but to accomplish 27 years on top is truly Hall of Fame status," Head of CBS Daytime and Syndicated Development Angelica McDaniel said in a statement. "This success is a testament to the incredible passion and hard work of the cast, staff, and crew on The Young and the Restless, led by Jill Farren Phelps and Charles Pratt, Jr., Sony Pictures, Bell Dramatic Serial Company, and CBS Daytime."

McDaniel added that there was one special group of people which really deserves some recognition: the fans!

"All of our efforts would mean nothing without the most dedicated fans in daytime who have made Genoa City their home, many for years," McDaniel said. "Congratulations to all for this success!"
