Katherine Chancellor's Memorable Moments On Y&R

Katherine Chancellor (played by Jeanne Cooper) was introduced to fans of The Young and the Restless in 1973. Throughout her time on the show, the beloved character was referred to as "The Grande Dame of Genoa City."

Katherine got festive with Murphy (Michael Fairman) at a masquerade ball. The two were married in May 2009 at a ceremony in which Nikki was the matron of honor and Victor was the best man. They were happily married until Katherine's death in Aug. 2013.  

Katherine had a long-running feud with Jill (Jess Walton), much to viewers' delight. Their rivalry lasted for nearly four decades and included one funny hose fight scene.

 

Katherine embraced her rival Jill (Jess Walton) during one of their peaceful periods.

 In 2009, Katherine took her feud with Jill to a new level when she threw a cake in her face at Chloe and Billy's wedding reception.

The gloves came off at Chloe and Billy's wedding reception when Katherine and Jill went cake crazy!

Katherine knew how to hit the dance floor with Murphy (Michael Fairman). The two had quite a romance, and after her death, Murphy said he was finally learning ballroom dancing in her honor.

Katherine was loved within the Genoa City community. Here she is seen sharing a sentimental moment with Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard).

Katherine was close with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). In fact, Katherine was the godmother to Victor and Nikki's daughter, Victoria.

Katherine was shocked to find out that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) was her long lost grandson. She later left him her fortune. 
 

Katherine certainly had a penchant for style, as demonstrated with this colorful ensemble.

Katherine spent some time with her dear friend Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), whom she made CEO of Chancellor Industries.

Katherine and Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) took turns helping each other out on more than one occasion.

Katherine, who was always impeccably dressed, had some words for Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John).

Katherine showed some love to Brad Carlton (Don Diamont) and Jill (Jess Walton).

Katherine shared a moment with Paul Williams (Doug Davidson). Years later, Paul would remarry Christine at Katherine's memorial, following Katherine's advice in a letter he received during the ceremony.
