The 75th Annual Tony Awards® comes to the legendary Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday, June 12, celebrating live theater in a four-hour television and streaming event that will be broadcast live coast to coast for the first time. 



This year, Emmy Award winners Darren Criss and Julianne Hough will kick off the evening with The Tony Awards: Act One, a one-hour show offering exclusive content and streaming live only on Paramount+, beginning at 7 PM ET/4 PM PT. The co-hosts will bestow multiple honors and introduce special performances throughout the exciting hour of programming.

Immediately afterward, the live presentation of the American Theatre Wing’s 75th Annual Tony Awards will begin at 8:00 PM ET/5 PM PT.

Who are the 2022 Tony Awards nominees?
A Strange Loop leads with 11 Nominations, followed by MJ  and Paradise Square with 10, Company at nine, and The Lehman Trilogy and SIX: The Musical with eight each.

Who is the host of the 2022 Tony Awards?



Academy Award Winner and Tony Award nominee Ariana Debose will host The 75th Annual Tony Awards®.

Ariana DeBose is an American actress, dancer, and singer who received critical acclaim for her groundbreaking performance in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, for which she received an Oscar, BAFTA, Critics Choice, and SAG Awards for her performance as Anita. 

DeBose has appeared in a total of six Broadway shows, including Hamilton (in a dance number, she portrayed the bullet that killed the title character). Her first Tony nomination was in 2018 for her work in Summer: The Donna Summer Musical (she played Disco Donna, representing one of three stages of the singer’s career. ) Additional theater credits include “A Bronx Tale,” “Pippin,” “Motown the Musical,” “Bring It On: The Musical” and “Company.” On television, DeBose appeared in the series “Schmigadoon!” and the adaptation of the hit Broadway musical “The Prom.” Next, DeBose will star in the films “Kraven the Hunter,” “Argylle” and “ISS.”

Who is performing this year?
The evening will feature performances by this year’s Tony Award-nominated musicals, including A Strange Loop, Company, Girl from the North Country, MJ, Mr. Saturday Night, Music Man, Paradise Square and SIX. Also taking the stage to help celebrate this extraordinary night will be Tony Award winners Bernadette Peters, Billy Porter, the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus, and the original cast members of the 2007 Tony Award-winning musical Spring Awakening.

The American Theatre Wing’s Tony Awards® got their start in 1947 when the Wing established an awards program to celebrate excellence in the theatre. The Antoinette Perry “Tony” Award, was named for Antoinette Perry, an actress, director, producer, and the dynamic wartime leader of the American Theatre Wing.
