Constructive criticism isn't always easy to hear, but Weatherly takes feedback to heart. "My coach wrote me a letter when I graduated that said I would only be successful if I could learn to 'organize the chaos of my life.' And he was right on," the actor admitted to Watch! in 2011.

Whether he's traveling or getting into character, Michael treats his life like an adventure. "The best way to get to know any place or any thing, be it a city, a person, a car or yourself, is to get lost in it. I don't set out to get lost, but somehow, I always do," he shared with Watch! in a 2007 interview.

Michael heard a lot of "no's" before he got the chance to direct an episode of NCIS. "I don't have much sway, but I was adamant I'd direct," the actor told Watch! in 2016. "I started asking around Season 3, and by Season 5 I was pestering them all the time. By Season 7 they couldn't say no, and they let me direct one finally in Season 8."

"Trying to find a character is like trying to put a shoelace through the little eye," Michael told Watch! in 2017. Though wildly frustrating, that challenge is one of his favorite parts of being an actor, and his role on Bull is no exception. "I just love the idea that I would get to play a guy who is somewhere between a Bond villain and Dr. Phil."

Michael is the first to admit that he didn't always have it all figured out. "Ten years ago, I was like a lone wolf.  A wolf who didn’t have a pack," he revealed in a 2016 interview with Watch!  "I didn’t have things that made me full as a person. And now, I'm full."
