Once Cote de Pablo exited NCIS, she landed the role of Shirah in the CBS limited series The Dovekeepers, based on Alice Hoffman's bestselling novel about the intersection of three women's lives at the siege of Masada in 70 A.D.

"When you see Cote as Shirah, you just fall in love with her," The Dovekeepers' executive producer Roma Downey told Watch! in 2015. "She's how I always imagined Shirah would be—dark, exotic, and free-spirited. She brings a passion and a sensual earthiness to the role."

When The Dovekeepers' producers finally made the decision to film in Malta, Cote de Pablo was thrilled. "I love location shoots!" she told Watch! during her 2015 interview. "I love being able to say, 'I'm going to Malta for two-and-a-half months, and shooting an epic story about love and passion.' I'm a gypsy at heart, and anything that takes me abroad, I embrace."

Describing a New Year's Eve spent with family and friends at a rented beach house in Chile, Cote de Pablo alluded to a mysterious Chilean luggage ritual that begins at age 12. "You take your luggage and you run in circles around the yard," she told Watch! in 2010, "It just means that you really want to travel. So you're basically putting it out into the universe."

Did she continue the tradition? "Of course! I do it every year. It's the best! I take my luggage and run around the house. And it usually works because I'm always traveling."

Discussing that Chilean beach vacation in more detail, Cote de Pablo revealed a passion for "yoga in the dojo, which is right there overlooking the ocean" and fresh fruit juices.

Shorts, sandals, and T-shirts were her dream vacation wardrobe, she told Watch! in 2010. "No cell phone, my hair is curly, and this big. My vacation is so limited I'd rather just rejuvenate, enjoy the ocean, sleep, and read."

While she admitted that sometimes hanging with the many guys on the NCIS set was "like being with your brother," in her 2010 Watch! interview, Cote de Pablo also confessed to a fondness for the occasional night in with the girls. "Every once in a while, I invite a bunch of girlfriends over to my apartment. We get a bottle of wine, and we cook together and put on music and just take off our shoes, move the furniture, and dance."

For a fashion issue of Watch!, Cote de Pablo ditched her casual, comfy persona and donned high-glam outfits from Dior's fall 2012 ready-to-wear collection.

Pulling off everything from flirty '50s-inspired looks to sleek, curve-hugging numbers, the actress channeled her supermodel side for this cover shot.

While Cote de Pablo will occasionally acquiesce to primping and glamorous photo shoots, like her alter-ego Ziva David, her everyday style is much more casual.

In fact, as a character choice, Cote de Pablo didn't want Ziva to come off as the bombshell type and preferred to let her inner goddess shine. She tells Watch! in a 2009 interview that "Her appeal doesn't have to come from her being glamorous, or cookie-cutter beautiful. It just comes from her security as a woman, from being in control of the situation."

Despite her own perfect facial structure and killer bod, the actress long ago embraced a more all-encompassing beauty aesthetic.

In her birthplace of Chile, she told Watch! in 2009, natural beauty has value. "Often they're not conventionally pretty, and that in itself can be so very beautiful. You can have a big nose and carry it with such pride. That's why to me the perfect kind of beauty is a little boring."

Though some might argue that The Dovekeepers had little in common with NCIS and Cote de Pablo's crimefighting Ziva David, we actually beg to differ. "It's a remarkable story of survival, human spirit, and love," Cote de Pablo told Watch! in our 2015 interview. "It's about people fighting for what they believe in." Parallels anyone?
