Preparing For The Call
"This year I left my cell phone and I left it next to my bed, because last year we had moved and I woke up at 7:30 AM and I was like, "I didn't get a phone call from Brad." I was all upset because I didn't think I was nominated. But he didn't have my new phone number because I had moved. He called at a quarter past six and I got excited."
Decisions, Decisions
"I don't know [what I'll choose to submit]. I think I did three weddings and four fashion shows last year. The only problem is that we made so many beautiful gowns that the way it was edited, you can't see them. These fashion shows [show the dresses] so quickly that you can't appreciate how much work went into these gowns. But you never know, it's just an honor to be nominated."
Personal Favorites
"There was one fashion show that was Thorne against Eric, when Thorne went to work for Spectra to try to see what he could do. He didn't win that challenge, but the things we came out with for that show were really, really original. I did the wedding dress that was all crocheted, and it was a corset in the back. We actually got a lot of phone calls from people wanting to buy it."
Waiting To Celebrate
"We celebrate after the Technical Emmy Awards. I don't celebrate the nomination so much. We will celebrate after this [City of Hope] fashion show in April because for me, it's like I've achieved a lot, not just being nominated, but putting the show together to hopefully draw some more attention to the show as far as fashion is concerned. I think we don't get appreciated enough for the quality of the stuff that we do."
