Hidden in Plain Sight
Gary & Dave were first to get out of the Hong Kong airport and purchase train tickets into the city. They settled into the first train out. Blake & Paige, Tara & Wil and Chris & Alex got on the second train. Oswald & Danny caught the third train. Once the train doors closed, Danny commented, "I'm so relaxed right now. I'm gonna enjoy this little train ride."
Still at the airport, Mary & Peach were having trouble figuring out the automated train ticketing system. They ultimately got a passerby to assist them. To make matters worse, the sisters also realized they had lost their map of Hong Kong. Finally, they got on a train into the city.
On the first train, Gary & Dave got a woman to point the way to Hong Kong's tallest building, the Central Plaza. At 12:34 pm they entered the lobby and headed up the elevator; they were the first to reach the top floor. Jumping for joy, the former roommates spotted the clue box. They opened up the clue instructing them to look out the window for the green and white star--the colors marking the Star Ferry, which would take them across the harbor to their next clue.
 Using provided binoculars, Gary & Dave searched for the green and white star to no avail. Knowing the other Teams might arrive at any moment, Gary volunteered another plan: to go for the Fast Forward. One Fast Forward is hidden in each leg. A Team may use their Fast Forward pass only once during the entire race. This particular Fast Forward was hidden at Wong Tai Sin Temple. Once there, Teams going for it had to walk through the labyrinth of basement hallways and find a specific Fortune Teller. She would give one Team member a face reading and the other a palm reading. The first Team to complete the task successfully would win the Fast Forward. Gary felt going for the Fast Forward was the only strategy that would keep them ahead of the pack. Dave agreed and the teammates rushed off.
 As Gary & Dave headed back to the elevators to begin their quest for the Fast Forward, the doors opened, and Chris & Alex, Blake & Paige and Tara & Wil walked out. The three Teams struggled just as Gary & Dave had before them. "This is like finding a needle in a haystack," Tara commented, as the Teams searched for the Star Ferry.
Unfortunately for Mary & Peach, their taxi driver mistakenly took them to "Center Building" instead of "Central Plaza." Realizing they weren't in the right place, Peach theorized, "I think we should try the Fast Forward no matter what, since we're this far behind." Upset with their mistake, they estimated that the only way they could stay in the race would be to win the Fast Forward.
