What was your worst moment in the Race? Bob: Watching Joyce eating 2.2 lbs of caviar. Joyce: Not being able to get the Air France flight to St. Petersburg, and eating the caviar! What was the best moment in the Race? Bob: Paragliding over the magnificent scenery of the Andes. Joyce: Paragliding in the Andes Mountains. It was so beautiful and was a magnificent experience. When and how was your relationship with your teammate strengthened or changed? Bob: I now know that Joyce is willing and capable of doing just about anything and doing it with spirit, good humor and guts. Joyce: Bob and I had a strong relationship going into the Race. We had a great relationship on the Race. No surprises there! Bob was the perfect teammate and life mate. Is there any place you'd revisit, or wish you had been able to visit? Bob: We are planning a trip back to St. Petersburg, but not in the winter. The city is fabulously beautiful, and the people are very friendly. Joyce: Bariloche, Argentina and St. Petersburg, which we plan on returning to soon. They are all truly beautiful. If you could do the Race over, what would you do differently? Bob: Probably work more closely with other Teams. Joyce: We would work more with the other Teams always stay connected and form more alliances. Of all the things you packed, what was the most useful? Bob: Sleeping pills! Joyce: Good, comfortable shoes! What did you wish you'd brought with you, but didn't? Bob: GPS System….just kidding! Joyce: A headlight or flashlight to read maps at night. Now that you've finished the Race, what are your plans? Bob: Joyce and I will now return to our pre-race lives, which were wonderful before the Race and will be better now that we have shared this amazing adventure and know that we will be together for the rest of our lives. Joyce: To continue to have fun, enjoy our lives, maybe marry someday and live each day to the fullest. Also, to do something that scares me every day! |
