Alison is given the first true/false statement: "One of you is a vegetarian." She answers incorrectly, and the beams move up. When David is asked if he thinks there is a virgin in the house, he guesses that there is. He's incorrect, and the beams move up again. Despite many wrong answers and a difficult balancing act, all eight manage to stay on the beams, and the HouseGuests win groceries for the week.
"BRACE YOURSELF"
The HouseGuests have noticed that the House is furnished with more beds and chairs than there are people. But who else will be moving in? Julie once again greets the HouseGuests. Reminding them that they have been told to "expect the unexpected," she prepares them for the shocking twist with ominous words: "brace yourself." Finally, Julie reveals the twist: arriving soon to move in and shake things up are none other than five of the HouseGuests' exes.
This information sets the HouseGuests into a frenzy, as they make speculations about who might be arriving and how the twist will effect the game. Bit by bit, the full impact of the "X Factor" dawns on them, and Jun exclaims suddenly, "Oh my god, what if I have to share my bed with my ex?" Alison is quite shaken, saying "I didn't want to live with him before, and I don't want to live with him now." Soon, the speculation turns to strategy, and the original eight HouseGuests make a pact: the exes must go. But will their strategy last? David is skeptical, remarking, "I guarantee it's going to be tossed up." Meanwhile, Jun has other things on her mind, noting that "we can hook up; we just have to vote them off."
OLD FLAMES, NEW FIRES
While the HouseGuests panic inside, the five exes gather in the front yard of the House, completely unaware of who is inside, or the shocking twist. The exes are Amanda, who was engaged to Scott before irreconcilable differences and arguments over housecleaning led them to call off the engagement; Justin, who dated Alison for seven months in college before an unclear but seemingly unpleasant series of events broke them up; Jee, who was Jun's first love for five and a half years; Michelle, a 19-year-old virgin whose high school romance with David ended due to sexual frustration; and Robert, a self-proclaimed cheater whose infidelities led to the end of a two-year relationship with Erika.
The five exes enter the House expecting to be greeted by strangers, but instead they come face to face with their former flames in the Living Room. The tension in the House is palpable as the unwanted reunion takes place. Obviously not thrilled with Jee's presence, Jun announces, "I have to go throw up." Equally appalled is Erika, who calls her new living arrangement with her ex a "nightmare." But the biggest reaction comes from Alison, and Dana does her best to console her as she breaks down in tears.
How will the "X Factor" affect strategies in the House? Find out LIVE on the next episode of BIG BROTHER 4, tomorrow, Wednesday, July 9 at 9 pm ET/PT.
