Biography

Jason Priestley is probably best known to television audiences for his breakout role on the television series "Beverly Hills, 90210," for which he earned two Golden Globe nominations. He also starred in the series "Tru Calling" and guest starred in "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter" and "Spin City." His television film credits include starring as the title character in "I Want to Marry Ryan Banks" and "Warning: Parental Advisory." He also recently starred in the Canadian series "Sleep Murder," "Going the Distance," "Chicks with Sticks" and the British miniseries "Colditz."

Priestley received critical acclaim for his performance in the feature film "Love and Death on Long Island." Additional feature film credits include "Cover Story," "Cherish," "Eye of the Beholder," "The Boy Who Could Fly," "Nowhere to Run," "Calendar Girl," "Tombstone" and "Die, Mommie, Die!" He also recently starred in the London theatre production of "Side Man."

As an established director, Priestley directed and produced the documentary on the Canadian rock band The Barenaked Ladies, entitled "Barenaked in America." Priestley also directed their music video, "The Old Apartment," for which he earned a Best Director nomination at the 1996 Canadian Music Video Awards. In addition, he also directed the television series "The Outer Limits," "Grosse Pointe" and the television film "Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye."

Priestley was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada and currently resides in Los Angeles. His birth date is August 28.
