After hearing this, Ben gets fired up about being the underdog. "I like what you all are doing to me," he says to the Ghosts. "You went and started a battle and I love it. I'm gonna prove to everybody what I've got for sure." He then offers his $80,000 bag of gold from all the treasures he's won as compensation for the three people who join his crew. Christa then reassures the Ghosts that she's confident in winning the big treasure tomorrow and offers her $70,000 bag of gold to her crew only if she wins because she still has to take some money home for her daughter.
The Final Crews
Christa and Ben look through the ballots and choose three Ghost Pirates each to join their crew. Ben chooses Cheryl and Azmyth, Christa chooses John and Jay, while both of them choose Nessa as the third crewmember. Ben tries to convince Nessa to join his crew by offering a $10,000 "insurance policy" that she'll receive whether they win or lose.
Christa matches that and then offers the rest of her $70,000 to Nessa if her crew wins. Nessa accepts Christa's offer, so Ben chooses Jupiter as his final crewmember. The Black Crew now consists of Ben, Cheryl, Azmyth and Jupiter while the Red Crew includes Christa, John, Jay and Nessa. The remaining Ghost Pirates disembark the ship and Ben cuts them adrift for the last time.
The final crews head below deck, excited about Captain Steel's treasure, but Ben remains focused on his underdog status. "It seemed like everybody at Pirates' Court tonight wanted Christa to win and I think I needed that," he says. "It lights a fire under me and I want to prove everybody wrong. They're creating a monster."
The Expedition for Captain Steel's Treasure
The next day, Cameron gathers the final crews on deck and Christa remains confident as she gets into her longboat. "I know that no matter what happens, no matter what the Expedition is about, we won," she says. Ben can barely contain his excitement as he boards his longboat. "This is my last day here, my last time to shine and my last chance to prove to everybody that I've got what it takes to be Pirate Master," he says.
