Survivor Host: Hi Richard! Thanks for being here today. Are you ready to take some questions?
Richard: Cool.
sunshinegirI: Rich, did you really feel bamboozled when you were voted off, or did you have an idea it was coming?
Richard: I was totally schnookered. I thought Colby was going. Oh well, time to go.
RiRi: Richard, you have always been my favorite player. Whose vote against you surprised you most at Tribal Council?
Richard: Well, all of them voted unanimously, which they would have to do to survive. No individual person surprised me.
U-Must-Go-ByeBye-Now: Will you make them pay for voting you out?
Richard: No, I enjoyed it. You know: fun game, and it was my turn.
WindyCityJo: Richard, some of us have wondered if your heart was really in this one?
Richard: Well, it was. But it was much tougher game than anyone realizes.
woodstock: Rich, this morning on THE EARLY SHOW, you stated you were "in love," and you seemed to be beaming! Congratulations! Are you in a long-term, steady relationship?
Richard: Absolutely. His name is Emiliano, and he's amazing.
Portia: Hatch, you going to San Francisco to get hitched?
Richard: No, we're probably going to try to do it here in New York this weekend.
Bettye: So Richard, tell me why being naked was important to you. Was it your personal statement? If so, what statement were you making?
Richard: Well, the naked thing is about different issues. Part of it is strategy. In the first game, it was to get lots of private time. The cameras and the people left me alone. In ALL-STARS, it was more about being who the contestants expected me to be, because if I changed my tactics, they would wonder what was up.
Bettye: Richard, please describe your tribemates, using only one word for each.
Richard: Kathy: cautious, Shii Ann: well-intended, Ethan: competitive, Jerri: desperate, Colby: great guy, Lex: complicated.
micaIa: Richard, who were you most surprised to see amongst the All-Stars?
Richard: I wasn't surprised by anyone. I figured out most of the players, and honestly, it didn't really matter to me who was playing.
ShiiAnnFan: Who do you think was the weakest member of Mogo Mogo? Why?
Richard: I think the weakest member might have been Shii Ann, only because it seems to me she doesn't have a sufficient self-perception to play the game well.
Hotmama: Richard! I think you are wickedly entertaining! I hate that they voted you off! Lol, are you naked now?
Richard: Of course! I'm disappointed too.
timothy: Why did Mogo Mogo sit Shii Ann out every other Challenge?
Richard: The Challenges she sat out were Challenges she really couldn't contribute to.
rink: If there was a movie about your SURVIVOR experiences, what would it be called?
Richard: Hmmm, a movie from my SURVIVOR experiences. "An Interesting Game," that's the title.
adie: Hi Rich. Colby called you a cancer. What would you call him?
Richard: Well, you got to remember that in the context of a game, Colby's a great guy.
Meat: Richard, you're the best. Who do you think is hotter, Boston Rob or Ethan?
Richard: Oh, they're both really handsome guys in their own way.
martha: Richard, if you could date one of the Survivors, who would it be?
Richard: Probably Colby. If he was gay, and I wasn't married.
Hatch_d: Was Big Tom always drunk?
Richard: I was never on Big Tom's team.
Hotmama: Richard! How delicious was that shark that bit you?
Richard: Oh, it was soooo good. Really, really, really awesome.
merlot: If you could have picked one person to be on ALL-STARS with you, who would it have been, and why?
Richard: My partner, because I don't like being apart from him.
haydenjack: Out of all the past and present Survivors, who do YOU think played this game the best, outside of yourself of course. Personally, I would have loved to see a Hatch-Fairplay-Cesternino tribe.
Richard: I really just can't stand Jon, or the way he played the game. But Rob C. definitely was an awesome player when he played originally.
merlot: Richard, don't you think your "better-than-everyone-else" attitude is what got you the boot?
Richard: (Laughs) No, I love me and my attitude. (laughs)
ThinkOutsideTheBox: Richard, when they finally release ALL-STARS on DVD, should they leave the blur in? Or would you favor a blur/no blur option?
Richard: Oh, I think always an option. Options are what are society is supposed to be about.
Canamal: You mentioned not being "hungry" about the game on THE EARLY SHOW. Do you think the other winners aren't as hungry either?
Richard: Well, part of that has to do just how devastatingly difficult this game was physically.
rink: How long did it take to build the raft?
Richard: It took a couple hours to secure it.
woodstock: Rich, sorry to see you go! What was the strategy behind dropping your shorts in the middle of the Challenge? Did your tribemates suggest it to distract the other team?
Richard: Yeah, that's exactly why. My tribe made me do it, basically to distract the other team.
rink: Were any of the castaways or any of the crew uncomfortable with your nudity?
Richard: No, gosh no. In fact, Colby was quoted the second day as saying, "There's this naked gay guy walking around with us, and no one even cares."
martha: Rich, you seemed a bit more "uppity" this time. Why? Because you had already won, and felt you were sure to win again?
Richard: No, it was part of my strategy, to maintain the perceptions people had of me already.
Wicked1: Rich, how would you have started the fire in the beginning? Richard: Well, I've started lots of fires in different environments. It would have been difficult to start a fire with the humidity we had there. But I sure didn't try very hard anyway.
yiago: Richard, do you think they should have put all the previous winners in one tribe?
Richard: Oh no, I liked the way they mixed things up this time.
RiRi: Acquaintances are easy to find, but a real friend is a treasure. Who do you consider a real friend?
Richard: No one you would know. By the way, I agree.
