A DR. PHIL PRIMETIME SPECIAL: ESCAPING ADDICTION
Dr. Phil McGraw counsels Joani, a working wife and mother, whose drug habit will literally kill her if she doesn't get help. Joani is a drug and alcohol rehabilitation nurse who is able to sustain her out-of-control drug habit by manipulating the medical system to maintain her supply. She takes pills and administers self-injections constantly throughout the day and evening to maintain her delicate equilibrium, and has doctors, dentists and pharmacists prescribing and supplying her with multiple prescriptions of a variety of drugs. Dr. Phil also confronts Brian, Joani's husband and enabler, who doesn't think that his wife has a problem.
