Emmy award winner Brad Garrett ("Everybody Loves Raymond") stars as Jackie Gleason in this movie that looks at the life of the renowned comedian and television icon.
The movie chronicles the creation of "The Honeymooners," exposes the drama that existed behind-the-scenes of the comedy, points out the parallels between the show and Gleason's real life and reveals what made the larger-than-life comedian the man who could create the beloved characters of Ralph, Alice, Ed and Trixie.
The film also explores events in "The Great One's" childhood that explain how the characters in "The Honeymooners" had a relationship to Gleason that went much deeper than the show, and how life was not always a honeymoon for this charming but tortured and conflicted genius. From his humble beginnings as a stand up comedian with a voracious appetite for booze, women and control to the skit that changed his life as well as the landscape of television, Gleason always followed one golden rule: If you appear important, people will think you are important.
