ROLLING ON THE RIVER
Working together, dating couple Eric & Danielle and newlyweds Rob & Amber arrived at La Maquina in first place to find a Detour having to choose between Vertical Limit and River Wild. In Vertical Limit, Teams had to walk 200 yards to a cliff where both Team members needed to complete a 40-foot rock climb. Each Team member would grab one half of their clue at the top of the climb. In River Wild, Teams had to backtrack two miles to the banks of Rio Petrohue where they would complete a two and a half mile white water rafting course through category three and four rapids.

With both Teams opting to cruise along the rapids, Rob & Amber took the lead as Eric & Danielle made a wrong turn in finding the riverbank. As the newlyweds felt the rush of adrenaline on the rapids, beauty queens Dustin & Kandice, having missed the clue at La Maquina, arrived at the riverbank and began rafting in hopes of spotting their next clue in the water. Just behind the beauty queens, Eric & Danielle and Uchenna & Joyce suited up for their wild ride as Rob & Amber completed the course. Opening the clue, Rob & Amber discovered they needed to drive three and a half miles to the next Pit Stop at Playa Petrohue, a beach made of black, volcanic sand.

As the befuddled Dustin & Kandice opened their clue to the Pit Stop wondering why they didn't do a Detour, newlyweds Rob & Amber stepped onto the mat in first place once again. Phil informed the pair that for their hard effort they had each won a full home gym complete with an elliptical trainer and exercise bike.

After Uchenna & Joyce and Eric & Danielle stepped on the mat in second and third place respectively, Dustin & Kandice, who had problems starting their car, arrived in fourth place where Phil informed the stunned pair that they had missed a clue along the way. In the end after retrieving the Detour clue, their mistake cost them nothing more than additional stress as they returned to the mat still in fourth place with best friends Oswald & Danny claming fifth place and married parents Teri & Ian taking sixth.

END OF THE ROAD
Having spent a good part of the afternoon lost, the race for last place heated up between life partners Joe & Bill, cousins Charla & Mirna, and coalminer and wife David & Mary. After meeting up with the cousins, Joe finally discovered he wrote the clue down incorrectly when Mirna pointed it out. Relieved at receiving the correction, Joe & Bill offered to work together to find La Maquina by splitting the fee for a taxi to lead them. David & Mary, on the other hand, after driving past Petrohue having missed the sign, asked locals who pointed them in the right direction.

Arriving at the riverbank together, Charla & Mirna and Joe & Bill raced through the rapids neck and neck as David & Mary cruised close behind. Back at their cars, Joe & Bill passed by Charla & Mirna who lost their car keys and claimed seventh place. The panicked cousins located their keys and began the drive to the Pit Stop only moments ahead of David & Mary. While the coalminer and wife made a race of it, the relieved cousins stepped onto the mat in eighth place.

Pulling into the Pit Stop in last place, coal miner and wife David & Mary received the bad news from Phil that they had been eliminated from the race. Mary commented, "This time I think that we both came to the realization that I'm me and he's him and we gotta accept each other for who we are." David added, "I'm not gonna change her and she's not gonna change me. We just gotta go with the flow."
