 THIS WEEK'S DETOUR
On Leg 12's Detour, Teams had to decide whether to mountain bike or to run through a large pineapple field in Maui, Hawaii . In either case, they had to search for colored pineapples hidden somewhere in the field. In "Bike," Teams would pick up speed by pedaling, but they would be searching for one red painted pineapple. In "Walk," Teams would have to search by foot, but there were four yellow painted pineapples in the field, and they would only have to find one. All three Teams decided that Walk would be the faster option, because they had a better chance of finding one of four pineapples. Leg 13, the final leg, did not have a Detour.
