What was your worst moment in the Race?
Shola: Without a doubt, it was when I got my foot run over by the cab in Brazil. That hurt so much that I could barely stand it. But what hurt more than that was that while I was lying on the ground, I truly believed that I would not be able to go on, and that our time on the Race was going to end right there in Brazil.
Doyin: Definitely driving around aimlessly in the deserts of Namibia. That was an absolute miserable experience.

What was the best moment in the Race?
Shola: There are too many to name, but if I had to choose, it would probably be the Pit Stops. Being able to hang out and relax with the other Racers, and being able to form lifelong friendships with them was unbelievably cool.
Doyin: The best moment of the Race was the beginning at the starting line. Just thinking that we had a one-in-eleven chance of winning the $1 million was a great feeling.

When and how was your relationship with your teammate strengthened or changed?
Shola: I don't think that our relationship changed at all. If anything, it has gotten stronger because I was able to have the adventure of a lifetime and share the whole thing with him. Win, lose or draw, there's nothing the Race could have possibly done to weaken or harm our relationship.
Doyin: If anything, our relationship is much stronger now than it was before the Race had started. We felt as if we could've competed at a higher level, and we have been able to help each other deal with the disappointment of finishing where we did instead of pointing fingers.

Is there any place you'd revisit, or wish you had been able to visit?
Shola: I'd love to revisit Cape Town; it is unspeakably beautiful there. And I wish so much that I was able to visit Australia. I've always wanted to go there.
Doyin: I'd love to revisit South Africa. It is absolutely beautiful down there.

If you could do the Race over, what would you do differently?
Shola: If I could do it all over again I would definitely take the time to enjoy my surroundings a little more, as opposed to just mindlessly rushing from place to place. Although I was fortunate enough to visit so many beautiful places, I didn't feel that I was truly able to experience much of it at all because I was so focused on winning the Race.
Doyin: Although it was a Race, we would have liked to take the time to enjoy the different locations instead of rushing around everywhere. God knows when we'll have the opportunity to see those places again.

Of all the things you packed, what was the most useful?
Shola: Definitely, my deodorant! It might sound silly, but when you're not able to shower for days and days on end, having deodorant around becomes incredibly important.
Doyin: My deodorant!

What did you wish you'd brought with you, but didn't?
Shola: Nothing. I pretty much brought along everything that I needed.
Doyin: Nothing.
