DETOUR Leg 9: In this Detour, Teams had to choose between "Extreme Swiss" and "Very Swiss." In Extreme Swiss, each Team member had to walk onto a narrow red bridge and take the longest bungee jump in Europe, 620 feet. This task could be completed quickly, but could also be terrifying. In Very Swiss, Teams needed to drive eight miles into the Alps to a farm. Once there, they had to search for one of a handful of keys hidden in the traditional Swiss bells around the necks of 75 goats. The key then opened a box holding their next clue. While much less scary, completing this task could take a long time.
Leg 10: Leg 10's Detour required Teams to choose between "Dry" or "Wet." Teams choosing Dry drove themselves to an apartment on Choa Chu Kang Way, where Singapore television's biggest star, Phua Chu Kang, would hand them their next clue. While seemingly easy, all streets in this district are named Choa Chu Kang. Once finding the correct building, Teams would discover the elevator does not stop on every floor and that apartment numbers flop from wing to wing. Teams choosing Wet had to drive to the Singapore Zoo to search for "mermaids." They must realize the mermaids they must find are manatees, whose round shape inspired sailors to invent the legend of mermaids. Teams must then put on goggles and wetsuits and swim across the enclosure to find their next clue.
