ROUTE MARKERS
Detour: This Detour, at the General Aviation Terminal in Queensland, Australia, required Teams to choose between "Wing It" and "Wander It." Teams opting for Wing It must get into a plane, climb to a height of 10,000 feet, and skydive in tandem with an instructor to their next clue. The task could be frightening, but Teams would finish quickly. Teams choosing Wander It had to drive to a mangrove forest and find a boat to navigate out of the forest and to the skydiving landing zone to get their next clue. While there would be nothing scary about the task, completing could take some time.

Roadblock: In this Roadblock, located at Kaulana Bay on the big island of Hawaii, one Team member had to swim out to a floating tiki head, dive beneath the waves to retrieve a rock below, and carry the rock back to the beach. Once on shore, they had to smash the rock open to retrieve the clue inside. Chip & Jon swam for their Teams on this leg. Because Reichen & Chip had already won THE AMAZING RACE before David & Jeff reached the Roadblock, neither of the best friends from California performed the task.
