Zach wins Head of Household

Eric wins a phone call home and gives it to Jess

Zach nominates Jessica and Jameka

ZACH-TASTIC HOH

JESSICA & JAMEKA NOMINATED
Dick's fears come true as Zach triumphs in the HoH. None of the HouseGuests feels safe as Zach considers his nomination options. With offers of deals from both sides of the house, Zach announces his choices: Jessica and Jameka are on the block. Eric scrambles to save his partner as Zach plots his week in power.

Amber's eviction has left Jameka in the house without her closest ally. Never one to shed a tear over a HouseGuest eviction, Dick "feels really good about watching Amber go out the door." Jessica had wanted Amber to stay, but her ally Eric was determined Amber had to go, and she couldn't dissuade him. Always fearful of being targeted, Daniele admits, "It's absolutely hysterical nobody knows what's going on between Jessica, Eric, my dad and [me]," but she is ever watchful of shifts in thinking and power plays in the house. Jameka, having lost Amber, declares she'll keep fighting to stay in the game. Meanwhile, eviction survivor Zach grins, "It was huge not going home this week." America's Player Eric smiles when he remembers the sight of Amber leaving, admitting to feeling satisfied with the results of his latest task.

Slippery Slope to Power
When we left the HouseGuests on Thursday evening, the HoH competition was still underway. The competition didn't get any easier as the players raced to fill their bowls with tea. Mid-way through the competition the contestants are doused with a slippery substance, which soaks every surface with a slippery film. Eric later complains, "[The running surface] was slanted; it was slick, it was brutal." Dick, complaining of sore joints and legs, points out he is older than his housemates, he doesn't work out and he smokes, so he found the competition really tough. Zach shouts out as he races, "I want a letter from my family," and confides later in the diary room he really needed to pull out the stops to win the HoH. Eric fell a lot during the race, unable to keep his balance on the slippery surface. His antics amused Jessica on the sidelines with Jameka, who was still sitting out her HoH sacrifice made in an earlier competition. Watching the action, Jameka admits she felt "like the odd man out even more so now" because Amber is no longer in the house. Adding a twist to the game, Jessica announces the HouseGuests can choose to fill the smaller beaker located next to the bowls for a chance at a phone call from home. The first person to fill the small beaker wins the call, or can give the call to another HouseGuest. At first Daniele starts to fill the beaker but thinks better of it and returns to concentrate on the large bowl instead. Eric, deciding he is too far behind to win the race, decides to go for the small container and wins the phone call. The HouseGuests are given another option. They can use two more cups to transport the tea at a price: cold water for an entire day for everyone in the House for every cup used. All the players choose the cups and sacrifice hot water for eight days for a shot at the HoH.

A-Dick-ted to Yelling
Dick is worried. He needs to win the HoH or he might be in trouble. He admits to blowing up at Zach only hours before Amber's eviction and is fearful Zach might look for revenge if he wins HoH. We are treated to a flashback of Dick yelling at Zach for targeting Dick and Daniele when talking to Eric. "All you do is just throw everybody under the bus…Dude you are sitting there lying to my face," Dick says as he confronts Zach pre-live vote. "You should've been going home instead of Nick," he shouts, adding, "Goodbye…I don't want to talk to you anymore." Zach tells him he's played the game honorably up to now, but Dick's opinion differs. Thinking back on the argument, Dick declares, "Zach can't win this HoH."

Dick stacks the odds in his favor, using three cups each run to fill his bowl, but Zach is moving faster than he is. "I can do this, I can do this, move, move, move," Dick repeats to himself. Zach is flying up and down the course, getting very close to retrieving the floating ball in his bowl. Dick worries his alliance needs to win the HoH to be kept in the driver's seat but Zach finally snags his ball, winning the HoH.
