Summer Memories Dick and Daniele are the last two remaining HouseGuests after Zach's eviction last week. Dick is impressed with his former housemate's recent performance, admitting, "In the last week Zach turned it on…I give credit where credit is due." Daniele remains focused on her performance in the game this summer, commenting, "According to Zach it wasn't fair that we dominated it, but life's not fair and here we are!" After Zach walks out the door, Dick hugs his daughter, "We did it. We won everything, we won it all." Daniele is joyful in her celebrations, looking at the memory wall with a grin, "Who would have thunk it?" Dick claps and dances around the house as he brings home the reality to his daughter. "We have been the best team to ever play this game!" In the diary room, Daniele reflects, "This summer…there have been many points where I've hit rock bottom…but in the end it is worth it." To the Victors, the Spoils The pair finds a congratulatory dinner laid out for them, complete with champagne. "To winning, plain and simple," they toast. Dick admits he can't believe it is over and Daniele agrees, adding, "I think I've had the hardest time emotionally in this house than anybody." Dick concedes she is probably right. We review the moment Dick came downstairs from the HoH, revealing his relationship with Daniele to the gathered HouseGuests. We revisit their tears and cheers as the father and daughter get to know each other again. "We've done great in the game together," Dick points out over their celebratory meal. "I think we can fix this…I mean if we can get through all of this…" Their emotional flare ups, contentious arguments and outright fights are also recalled. During one such moment, Daniele weeps, "Some of the things you say to me and do to me…I don't want somebody to put me down…I am not that person." Dick opens his heart as he tries to connect with his daughter. "I don't intentionally do things to hurt people. I'm an idiot. I do that by mistake; I do that by just being who I am. But I am a good person," he reveals tearfully. "I love you very much, I don't ever want to go back to what it was, never. And I will do everything I can to keep that from happening." Daniele weeps through his words, agreeing to try to fix their relationship. "I never abandoned you and I never will…I might not be the greatest dad in the world but I'm trying. I'll never give up trying," Dick cries as he and Daniele share a hug. Dick says the moment that most impacted Dick during the summer was Daniele's support of him during the last endurance competition when he lost to Zach. The pair sees a hopeful future. "I don't know what to expect of my relationship with my dad once we leave the house…I definitely see progress," Daniele smiles and Dick agrees. "One step at a time…all I can do is hope." |
