What world leader do you admire?
Ghandi
How would you change the world?
I wouldn't change the world. I would change the people and how they treat it.
How would you change your neighborhood?
I would make people more aware of their actions.
What have you learned about power?
People are good at misusing it.
Is power a good thing?
It can be , if used in a proper sense. Like some children are powerful and can move people, but some people also use power as a way to control. I think when it comes to being better and taking control over people, that's when power needs to stop.
What makes a good leader?
Someone who everyone can trust and rely on. A leader should be able to connect with people and everyone should be able to feel and understand them. The leader should make decisions not on impulse but on what is best for people and to help them. They should be an inspiration to people as well as a friend.
Who have been some of the best U.S. presidents, and why?
I guess I don't know a lot about presidents to say who has been the best, but if I had to choose with my knowledge it would be Abraham Lincoln because of his hat (or was that his beard, oh well, same thing).
Who have been some of the worst U.S. presidents, and why?
George W. Bush and senior President Bush. I don't have to explain why.
When you become an adult, what do you think will be the biggest problem facing our nation and/or world?
Selfishness.
If you had the power to change one or two things about our country right now, what would it be?
Selflessness, because if people would stop being so selfish, we wouldn't be dealing with so many problems right now. If people could just take the time to conserve energy, throw away garbage and be careful of what they do, we wouldn't be dealing with global warming and pollution.
If you could put into place one law that pertains to kids in our country, what would it be?
That we would be listened to and not just told we don't know what we're talking about. Or is we had a problem, people wouldn't be like, 'oh whatever, you're just a kid. You'll be fine'. But people would listen and make kids feel okay. Oh, and that parents would have to take a class on how to be parents.
Why are some people rich and others poor?
There's not just 'one' answer for that, it depends on each situation individually. Some could be poor because of lack of work, or handicaps, or abuse, or lack of responsibility. Some could be rich because of inheritance, or they could really work hard, or win the lottery & there's so many reasons and they are all different situations.
Do you believe global warming is a fact or a myth? If you think it is a fact, what would you do about it if you were in charge?
Yes of course it's a fact. If I was in charge I would make people start out by buying a car that is highly fuel efficient. Your choice of vehicle is probably your single most important environmental decision: For every single gallon of gasoline burned, 20 pounds of carbon dioxide goes into the atmosphere. Carpool; take mass transit, walk or ride a bike. I'd make people purchase a highly efficient model of appliances. You can tell by looking at the Energy Star awarded by the EPA. That's just the beginning as I would do a lot more.
If you were in charge of immigration, would everyone be allowed to enter the country? Would illegal immigrants be allowed to stay?
I wish we could all just be friends.
If you were in charge of education, would art class be as important as math?
Yes, definitely.
