 Nikki Kimbrough & Chyno
First in the Adult Singer category was Nikki Kimbrough, who performed her rendition of "Let's Stay Together." "Amazing range, great stage presence," said Jack Osbourne, giving her 4 stars. "You sparkle like that dress," Naomi Judd told Nikki, calling her "the next Tina Turner" and giving her 5 stars. Ben Stein gave her 4 stars, remarking, "Love the performance, love the voice, love the song." "What do a singer and a plumber have in common?" asked Carol Leifer. The answer came with 5 stars for Nikki: "Great set of pipes, and you got 'em!"
The second Adult Singer was Thomas "Chyno" Seabrooks, performing "Incomplete." "You can definitely sing," Jack Osbourne told him, adding, "I just thought it was a little bit too cookie-cut," and giving him 3 stars. "You stud puppet! I'm on the Soul Train," remarked Naomi Judd, giving him 3 stars and adding, "I think you need a little bit more work." Ben Stein gave Chyno 5 stars, calling him "a major force to be reckoned with, better than a cut in the capital gains tax rate." Carol Leifer told Chyno, "You do know how to work it. You have a big future," and gave him 3 stars.
As the judging ended, Nikki was ahead 18-14. When the web scoring was tallied, Nikki was still in front, with 33 stars. Nikki Kimbrough won the Adult Singer category and will advance to next Thursday's Semifinals. |
