Jake Simpson & Allison Paige
Jake Simpson performed first in the Adult Singer category, singing Stevie Wonder's hit "Isn't She Lovely?" "Good choice of song," remarked Aaron Carter, giving Jake 4 stars. Naomi Judd gave him an enthusiastic 5 stars, adding, "You are 'eat up' with talent." Ben Stein also gave Jake 5 stars, telling him, "Missouri is the 'show me' state, and you showed me. You sang that song better than Stevie Wonder!" "I felt it in the room. It was great," put in Carol Leifer, giving Jake 4 stars.
The second Adult Singer, Allison Paige, performed "I'm the Only One." "The very beginning was a little low for you," Nick Carter told her, and gave her 4 stars. Naomi Judd also gave Allison 4 stars, adding, "You said you're fearless. I'm gonna call you the little giraffe, because you stuck your neck out." "Awesome voice. Stage presence a little bit weak at this stage of your life, but you're gonna be a star," remarked Ben Stein, who gave Allison 4 stars. Carol Leifer gave Allison 3 stars, telling her, "You've got a long road ahead of you. You have so much potential and talent."
When the singing was finished, judges preferred Jake over Allison, and the home audience upheld their decision. With 35 stars, Jake won the category and returns next Thursday for the Semi-Finals. |
