Melanie Molnar & Andrea Diaz
The first hopeful in the Model category was Melanie Molnar, who loves to bake and plans to do genetic research along with modeling. "She can bake me a pie in my genetic research lab any time. I'll be happy to do some genetic research with her tonight," quipped Ben Stein, who gave her 4 stars. Chaka Khan gave her 3 stars, and Carol Leifer gave her 4, remarking, "I would definitely not open up a bakery if I was you, because most supermodels wind up tossing their cookies, not baking them." Naomi Judd, who gave Melanie 4 stars, offered some advice: "Before gravity has its way with your DNA, I suggest you get into genetic research. I think you're beautiful, but education is where it's at."
Andrea Diaz was the second aspiring Model. Her spirited fashion walk inspired comment from the judges. "Sassy Lassie!" pronounced Naomi Judd, giving her 3 stars. Carol Leifer gave her 4 stars, saying, "She has a combination of all-American and very exotic. It's a great look." Chaka Khan gave her 5 stars, and Ben Stein gave her 3, remarking, "Gorgeous, but a little too sexy. Scared me a little bit."
Melanie and Andrea were tied 15-15 after the judges’ scoring, so it was up to the home audience to decide the outcome. Web scoring gave Andrea 15 stars, one more than Melanie, sending Andrea Diaz straight to next Thursday’s Semifinals. |
